We need to teach new believers that Christianity is a relationship not a religion. A relationship with Jesus that you share everyday, all day. "Take me with you everywhere you go". I talk to, sing to, sing with, thank and praise Jesus everyday all day as I spend time doing what ever it is at that time. If something I see that is amazing, like a little person playing softball and she is so tiny with long hair and looks like a helmet and feet running down the baseline (my grand child) I laugh loud and hard and say "Jesus are you watching this?" "Thank you for giving this moment to me!" Or when my heart was broken and I was so down my knuckles were dragging on the ground "Father please take this burden of pain from me. Help me learn what You are teaching me from this then take it, please!".....If I wake up late and don't take the time for morning prayer I will still talk to Jesus while I shower and sing him songs I know he likes. The Holy spirit (the piece/peace that Jesus puts in your heart) will speak for you and knows you and knows what is in your heart and knows the language of our father. It is all very cool. Do not be mistaken, things do not get easier over night! Know this Jesus saves the best for his children and life is better while walking with Jesus and they will be even greater later! Amen

The worship music gets you in the mood for the sermon. It takes your mind off the world and places your mind on God. If you feel manipulated into loving God or into worshipping Him it's because you don't love God. When you love God and have seen Him move in your life you will worship because you love Him. God's gotten me through a lot of hard times that I couldn't deal with myself. So for me when they say "Spirit lead me when my trust is without borders" it means something. Because when I had no options but to trust in the Lord He delivered me. The thing is people don't realize why they should love God, that's why they feel emotionally manipulated. No one is forcing you to worship. You are just trying to fit in. No one is telling you "if you don't worship get out" but if you love God you will worship. I'm usually the loudest one in church and people don't like that because they think I'm doing it for attention but I'm doing it to praise God. He is the one who sees. And if you go into church with a mindset to please those around you then you're not going to church for the right reasons. You should be going to worship and praise God. What did Moses do after God led the Israelites out of Egypt? He led the Israelites in worship and the Israelites worshipped and praised God for what He has done. God led us out of sin. It is right to worship and praise Him and anyone who feels like they have to be manipulated into doing it simply doesn't truly understand the gravity of the situation they were in before God came along. You were going to Hell! God sent His Son to die on the cross so you can have the opportunity to be born again and be seen as a sinless person! He literally gave you a second chance and took the punishment you deserved on the cross! So yes! He is worthy and deserving of all praise! What do people go to church for?

I was that guy at youth camp last year because I could just recall so much that happened in the year before that God had done for me. I was a Junior then and a Senior now, but I had meaningful conversations with the adults there and some of the other students my age marked me off as a “holier than thou hypocrite” and trying to get attention, which really shook me. I didn’t know how to deal with it then, and I still don’t 7 months later. I think it’s time to start praying and reading again. I never should’ve stopped. I signed up for a weight lifting class at my school to help myself get away from temptation and be more disciplined, and my youth pastor has offered to be more direct in discipling me because I’m going to college in the fall to eventually become a worship pastor myself. I’m still not quite 100% that’s what God wants me to do, but I know for sure I’m going into ministry and fine tune based on where I am called. He’s given me so many blessings toward paying for tuition already as well and the offer from my pastor was Him telling me He’s not done with me yet even through the discouragement and darkness I’ve experienced. That’s powerful in finding the light at the end of the tunnel.

YES! After going through the youth camp this year I have seen many of my friends be “saved” at alter call but have no significant testimony afterwards. It’s harmful later in life when they just want that feeling again and forget how real God is behind their emotions.
@PaladinThizz2 жыл бұрын
The emotion you get when you worship in church comes after the times where God leads you through the pain. It's not about the emotion, it's about thinking about all the things God brought you out of. All the things you should now feel guilty about. And the fact that He has removed that guilt, saved you from condemnation and the realization that you were going to Hell but now are called a child of God because of His grace and mercy. People don't understand.

One of the reasons I didn't want to go to youth camp 😅
@devinewynder5443 Жыл бұрын
It’s not always the youth camp’s fault. Some kids at certain ages don’t want God it’s that simple. I lead youth camp and we teach the true Gospel & I talk slow and I ask the youth to ask as many questions about God & the Bible & church & worship as possible. Especially if they don’t understand something. Some kids will ask anything that they are confuses about salvation so they get a understanding. Then you have kids that could care less. Just like adults they have a opportunity to accept Christ and usually but not always you can tell who desires to have a relationship with God by how interested they are to get truth in those classroom settings & who is not even caring about getting clarity because they don’t believe.
@two_point_080510 ай бұрын
I heard about a guy that did the same from my new church’s youth camp in his senior later. I was involved in a conversation (not about Jesus, but what the guys we’re interested in at the time) with him later last year and nothing changed. I do find my first year of youth camp with my old church where I truly found Jesus, but I was also poured into by two of the seniors in that group because our 7th grade class was so big I ended up sort of excluded from them.

Those, "manipulations," as you may call them are what started my journey to knowing Christ. Just those moments of feeling the spirit spark and planting a seed of fire, have years later, turned into a raging passionate fire for Jesus Christ (the Living Word). Had it not been for that, I probably wouldn't know him on the level that I do now. Thank you, God for turning even a drunkard into a deciple for your plan in the past and using those, as some would call, "manipulative, watered down" church camp services to lead me to you. I think it really depends. For me personally, one of those camp experiences was what led me to take my faith in Christ to the next level. I grew up in the church, but I never cared about having a relationship with Christ until 2021 at a youth camp. While I think there is an unfortunate amount of churches and camps doing this, I never felt FORCED to bow down at the altar and ask forgiveness, I did it simply because I felt Jesus calling me to. You would have to be blind to ignore the problems in the church, but people like you are helping bring awareness to these issues and hopefully helping rid the church of peer pressure. God bless 🙏 Edit: I also believe it depends on the person. In 2021 I went to a teen camp where I had an emotional moment the altar where I promised to let God lead my life. However, after a few months, I hadn't really acted on my promise, and slowly forgot the impact it had on me at the time. Fast-forward to 2022, we do the same team camp and had another emotional moment, but this time I decided to act on it. Since then my life has been nothing but trust in the Lord. The church doesn't make the decision to follow God for you. God didn't make the decision to follow him for you. Your parents don't make a decision to follow God for you. Your friends don't make the decision to follow God for you. Only you can make the decision to follow God.

If it's all feeling and no substance than that person hasn't allowed God to bring them out of their sin, because they either do not understand what sin is, the consequences of sin, or what God has done to save them from it. When you realize that you were going to be condemned to Hell, you actually start to realize how great God's love truly is for you, in that He'd bear the punishment we justly deserved in order to save us from the consequences of our own actions. But those who have been forgiven little love little. A lot of people just don't understand how blessed they are. They take God's mercy and kindness for granted. As if it's some common thing, but it's not. And not everyone has been set apart.

I love this!!! When I went to youth camp growing up it was amazing we had a fantastic pastor but the last few years I went there was a new pastor and every single sermon he did was on how we need to turn church into a rave and we would be standing for 20 minutes at a time for his prayers that were meaningless and repetitive he even had a someone playing piano in the background every time he prayed to make it more dramatic we would be out until 1 in the morning sometimes because he thought that meant he had a really good message then to top it all he pressured a lot of children to be baptized then he did it without calling their parents or pastors he even baptized a girl who wasn’t part of our denomination then he did a sermon on how much better he was than our old pastor because he baptized more kids.

Catch phrases like death, disaster, feelings of impending doom all help to manipulate persons.

No you're just not saved. You're not saved until you realize that because of the way you lived your life you were going to go to Hell, but because Jesus came, was beaten, humiliated and hammered to a cross and suffered for OUR sins, He saved us from that condemnation. You just don't realize how guilty you truly are yet and what He has taken you from. When the Adulterous woman was forgiven she wept at Jesus' feet. Because she was going to Hell, but Jesus made a way for her to go to heaven. The problem is society drills it into people's heads that certain sins are not serious. Like adultery. Back then adultery was punishable by death. Nowadays people just look the other way. But if you were about to be executed (which is your status before Christ) and Jesus comes and takes that stoning for you so you can live on, would you not feel emotional?

As someone who has spearheaded my church youth summer program for the last couple of years. We teach the truth of God. Who he is, why we need salvation, that Jesus is the only one who saves nothing else and not by work. We also teach the kids not to fear God but to reverence him and always go to him in prayer even when you commit a sin because he’s the only one that truly has the power to help you. Also we teach about false teachings as well. As for music we also make a emphasis on understanding what the lyrics mean, why we worship. It’s important that we give clarity to young people as to what Christian is & what it looks like. It doesn’t mean they may not reject God in the future. However they can never truly say it’s the church fault in your heart because we made it very clear to them they just don’t believe. Some people reject God regardless of what we do. Our job is just to spread & teach the truth of the Bible outside of that it’s that souls job to truly accept Jesus.

”You believe that there is one God. You do right, even the demons belive that, and tremble” There’s a difference between believing that and believing in, as the letter of James says, the demons believe THAT God exists, but they don’t TRUST IN him. We can’t just claim to be followers of Christ but then sin on and on excpecting forgiveness, that’s being lukewarm. If someone says ”I love my father” but then punches him every chance they get, they're lying. Jesus himself said ”if ye love me, keep my commandmets”.

Why I love my church and am thank I grew up in the apostolic/Pentecostal church. We don't get mental breakdowns, we get the Holy Ghost. We don't get sermons that sounds good to us and only just get us saved, we get sermons that help us get saved and stay saved by preaching that it doesn't end with getting baptized for receiving the infilling of the Holy Ghost. That's just the beginning. Paul didn't say he fought the good fight because he one day decided to follow Jesus and he stopped there. The continued on. He got baptized and the Holy Ghost and walked in that freedom and let the Holy Ghost lead him. And as he spiritually fought the world he choose to fight with his faith and keeping pursuing Jesus so he can do his will and keep his commandments. Our relationship with God is limitless. Don't let your relationship with God stop at baptism or receiving the Holy Ghost for the first time. Keep walking with Jesus. Get a relationship with Jesus. Fight the Good fight of faith.🤍💪🏽

Yea. There may be real Christians out there who have never once set foot in church but read their Bible everyday and pray and do what is right by God. The journey with God do not need to be limited in the walls of church. It is free to all. It is good for you to seek God in your life first, in your own pace and understand God finds you when you don't even know he is there for you. Develop that relationship with God first and fight through tribulation. When you do it and go to church you go there as a Christian who thinks what he listens and what he reads and how he interprets. A church is not necessarily the safest place these days unfortunately because if fickle human nature. Follow God, your house is your first church, library and a place you work to be better day by day.

I don’t think Christ will lose any who the Father gave him.🤔 if they turn away, we’re they ever really saved? If the choice was made over a feeling from some music, was it even real? Were they truly serious about their commitment? Yes we all need guidance! The HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR ULTIMATE GUIDE. And we need fellowship with other believers, for sure! But I feel that no amount of, or lack of guidance can be to blame. It is for some to sow. Some to reap. But GOD gives the increase. Either people truly desire GOD and seek after him or they lie to themselves…and those around them. In the end, many will say Lord, Lord! And he will say away from me, I never knew you. All we can do is TELL THEM ABOUT HIM! It’s up to them to listen y respond.

This. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of modern non-denominational churches that have younger attendees/congregants that don't know better because they are unchurched and are given the message of a one time altar call or sinners prayer. Don't get me wrong I practicing discipleship but I slip and sometimes fall but the focus needs to be sanctification and there's this deception of a one time event when Christianity is an on going event.

Daily Disciple here is trying to say how churches use emotion to manipulate church audiences instead of preaching about discipleship and faith. For example, you’re crying during worship, feeling touched by the performance-saying things like “oh I’m gonna try and be a Christian.. I wanna give my all to Jesus.. etc etc” but then the next you are back to committing your habitual sins, acting as nothing happened yesterday. This represents the fact that emotions don’t reflect upon reality as churches uses tactics with worship or sermons drenched in emotion, but not 100% Truth.

You end up with a theology that essentially says all you have to do is believe that Christ rose from the dead, and you're guaranteed a spot in heaven. This is why the Orthodox church has always professed salvation as a journey; one that requires a lifetime of prayer, repentance, and worship. "Do not say that faith in Christ alone can save you, for this is not possible if you do not attain love for Him, which is demonstrated by deeds. As for mere faith: 'The demons also believe and tremble' (James 2:19)". - St. Maximos the Confessor

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.3

You are wrong in this one! I started Worship God like this, I Worship God in the Spirit in my comfortable home. I felt connected to God. I encountered with Holy Spirit in 2019 while I was Worshiping in my bedroom. We are humans, Sometimes we have ups and downs moment. I always got emotional when worshipping God, I always think about God when He protected me when evil man wants to kill me and when I almosthad a crash. I call Him for help, He sent an Angel and His Holy Spirit to rescued me. The Holy Spirit will guide us. Look up to God not the church.

What did they do to you that makes you say this? Christianity practiced in truth doesn’t harm anyone, but sin, so what happened?

I wouldn’t say it’s manipulation, but more of the Holy Spirit doing it’s job. Which is why you feel moved. It is up to you do either make a change in your life or not. But don’t make promises to God that you can’t keep. Eclesiastes 5:5

If they want to see the vision, then maybe we should follow God's Holy Days and not the pagan holidays. Just as Jesus observed the Holy Days. The Holy days is a blue print to God's plan for us. Read bible daily, repent any wrong doing, get rid of your old self and put on new self. Every prayer end with Jesus name.

I mean… I get what you’re saying, but that’s not what is happening at a camp. It’s supposed to be a place where we put aside our “reality” and spend time in a setting that is far closer to our true reality than we generally ever get. Putting away all distractions and encountering the love of God at a camp is incredibly powerful and valuable. Discipleship is up to the church beyond that. In any way affirming the video you stitched seems like poor judgment in this day. Everything we encounter is manipulating (at worst) or influencing our thoughts and actions. I get the power of music and it’s effect, but you seem to underplay the power of God in those spaces. Love your stuff, just think you should slow this topic down and get deeper, not through a short out about it.
