I have about 120 hours in the game and while i still haven’t finished act 3 i decided to make a second character after having some cross save issues. I still have my original character just wont sync for some reason. Anyway, I found this scene after 120 hours and i got real emotional because just when i thought this game couldn’t have gotten more perfect, it drops this beautiful scene on us.

Brand new DnD player here and well Baldurs Gate in general. Witnessed this song my first play through and my jaw literally dropped. Like I thought the quest was just helping her with the song and that was it. Was not expecting a full on performance and I’m like holy crap this is actually happening. Hey man, feeling for the game and characters is perfectly natural. I remember doing my second run through and being more thorough with shadowheart and discovering heartbreaking details i missed my first time. Seeing her reunite with her parents and knowing the things i learned made me tear up and connect with the game and shadowheart on a whole new level i didnt expect. Believe me when i say, this game has yet to not leave me stunned in how well you can connect and feel for its story, characters, and emotions. I wholeheatedly am glad you were able to feel for alfira in such a way and to be able to connect with her. Like i said, for me, it was slowly bonding and watching SH grow and learn to love herself and to go from cold and distant to warm and caring. PS. Not sure if you've gotten to the end but in the epilogue she does send you a note if you helped her throughout the story with a heartfelt message and a heartwarming surprise

After meeting her, and helping her write the 'Weeping Dawn', all you have to do is knock her out before you long rest. I do it every time I'm running a (good) Dark Urge run because I don't have the heart to kill her. You do end up killing another random bard, but, you know, at least it's not Alfira.

I'm a bard main. I've always been a bard main. It's always been my one true love. I've always wanted to inspire people to lift them up to their greatness so I've always loved the class. I managed to find this on my first run and got these choices. Bard actually has class specific options with Alfira in inspiring her. Naturally, I cried during the scene. I like making different choices and seeing what the game has to offer. Not here though. Alfira will always find her joy with me.

This is the moment where you fall in love with Alfira, and immediatly goes through the 5 stages of grief knowing she's not recruitable for your party. I was so pissed at the game after seeing this scene the first time around that I did an evil Dark Urge run using Alfira's class, race, face and name so it would be the closest thing to playing her. XD No really. Since she's an npc, you can just make your character look identical to her and give them her name and it will be like playing her, second sad part is that her outfit isn't obtainable in any way, I tried it, so you don't have to.

I know this video is a little old but came across it when when I wanted to listen to this song. This was the moment I really fell in love with BG3 and knew this game was going to be different. I didn't really pay attention to the game because I thought it was going to suck as another modern AAA cash grab that sullies the memory of BG1 and BG2. It fortunately didn't. I always play paladins first in D&D games and I ran my paladin up the hill and thought I had found a new companion NPC because he clothes were different and you trigger this song when you help her. It's disappointing that she isn't recruitable after this wonderful moment in the game. I think I have a little dust in my eyes.

My understanding is that this song wasn't even supposed to be done. when the game designers asked for a song they expected a few lines that she would be practicing on suggesting the song was a work in progress. but the composer wrote a whole song so they added the scene to the game.
