Lovely reaction..! I'm in Ireland - County Donegal on the west coast - Sadly Sinead passed away yesterday in her London home where she was found unresponsive - she had quite recently lost her young son - they are together again now....! She had a very troubled childhood and difficult upbringing - when she covered this song she had recently lost her mother - she died in a car accident - and it's believed that is where the emotion springs from....! RIP Sinead O'Connor - heartfelt condolences to all those who knew and loved her...! Her Heart and Soul live on through her music...!

I’m amazed how people from all over the world can see the exact same thing, just by looking at the hurt she holds in her eyes. Like so many of us, she’s a beautiful, tortured Irish soul - she just has the ability to vocalize the pain in a way the resonates with everyone

Always loved the way she looks down inbetween versus and flicker of eye lids Everything was clever and unique so much put into this to draw people in to how shes feeling, the close up and personal to the facial expressions the manarisms and emotions fealt in her vocals Truly incredible and iconic was in lots of ways very ahead of its time watching and listening to it today has exactly the same effect, and i bet all newbies younsters where this came out way before they where born would have the same shock factor of how great this is, Number 1 in 19 countries in 1990 A truly remarkable masterpice iconic And truly deserves its historic status of how this grabbed the world and had everyone mezmerised Remarkable R.I.P an extremely important person thats for sure

Sinead was 30 years ahead of her time.. She was so brave in a world that wasn't ready for her.. I'm an Englishman and remember the English press slaughtering her.. (pre good Friday) like they did all Irish back then. The music industry slaughtered her because she refused to do the showbiz awards to collect her grammy etc, whilst wars were happening.. She was very emotionally forward, honest, sacrificed her career for her beliefs and years ahead of her time.. I'm glad you love this tune.. I read somewhere.. Prince was born to write this song.. But Sinead was born to sing it.. Definitely the best version imo.
@yudylenis6048 Жыл бұрын
she wrote black boys on Mopends she wrote that song about the murder of a black boy in London, she was a defender of human rights. she spoke about what happened in the church when nobody wanted to talk, and I was banned, but later we know it was true.. in the Grammy Award. O’Connor topped off her outfit by painting Public Enemy’s yellow and black bullseye logo on the left side of her head, effectively giving the group, and the entire genre of hip-hop, a prominent place on network TV, O’Connor was firm in her convictions. Two years later, in 1991, Public Enemy protested the Grammys again over the ceremony’s refusal to televise the presentation of the rap categories. O’Connor-who was nominated for four awards that year, including Record of the Year-also boycotted for separate reasons, withdrawing herself from consideration and refusing to perform her nominated hit song “Nothing Compares 2 U” on the show. Rest in peace."

He Mother was killed in a car crash in 85 , her mother abused her both physically and sexually . The statues represent both her mother and killing her pain within and yet even tho said Doc ( Psychiatrist) tells her to stop being depressed , go have fun , she still loves her Mother and misses her , nothing compares to a Mothers love . And she also lost her 17 year old son to suicide and today shes a Muslim , she was also abused in Dublin Ireland by the Catholic Church of which she spoke out and against , shes an angel indeed . Check out her version Trouble of the world 😉❤❤❤❤❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it's hard for me to say this about many people but If love was a color , it's her. She is just pure love . Greetings from Scotland! Probably one of the world's best known cover songs? It had a platinum award, Such a deeply emotional song. Sinead never explained if this had personal meaning to her. However, it's such a powerful performance that I suspect it may well have deeper meaning to her than just a cover song? Maybe we'll never know? Some mysteries should stay a mystery! All I know for sure is that it's damned good and hits the spot for me! :) My all time favourite from Sinead is "Zombie" and it also makes me cry just as this song does. Great reaction again!

Wrong. Her mom died when she was 18. She recorded this song 5 years later in 1989. She was severely abused by her mom and publicly expressed relief that she was dead. Yes she says she tapped into that grief about her child abuse to cry in the song after singing the line about her moma. But it was grief about her abuse not cuz she missed her mom.
