This video right here means a lot to me! Everything literally happens for a reason.
We searched all morning to find a OVERGROWN yard to makeover for FREE. Knocked on 4 doors, 2 didn’t answer and 2 people said no. So I was going to knock on one more for the day and it happens to be this one. They said yes! So we do a full yard make over for free and the owner came out and was so thankful. Her and I both get emotional when I show her the reveal. There’s no better payment than making someone happy.

@@mariodwir you obviously never lost someone you love. You don’t even know her situation. Maybe she was a single mother and had to go back to work. My father died and left my mother to raise a 5 and 4 year old-she didn’t work. No one in my “family” stepped up. If I die before my kids are older, I hope people show her some sympathy.

@@mariodwir I worked full time with two kids in school. My mother was in assisted living and I also tended to her 3 nights a week. I would have paid someone to do it, I wouldn’t have let it get out of hand. My neighbor knew my situation and took it upon himself to bless me this way. His family was wonderful.

I recently got very sick and my lawn got longer than it’s ever been. While I was still recovering, I went outside and was struggling to start my small push mower. Randomly a couple of professional landscapers pulled up and saw me, and without any words spoken began to cut, edge, leafblow, etc. I went to thank them and offer them money, but they said they were Christians and wanted to just help me with no payment. I was so moved I went in my house and wept. I haven’t shed a tear in years but I wept. The kindness was so pure. While watching them do their work I committed to be a kinder and more open person. It seems strange that such a small gesture could make such a big impact, but I think about it all the time.

After my husband passed a huge tree fell in my yard. It stayed there for a week while I thought about who to call and the money. My neighbor from many doors down came and told me he just really wanted that wood and cut and took it. I know he didn’t need it. I think about that all of the time. There's really only a few things that causes someone's yard to get like this: lack of funds, lack of equipment, lack of help, physical health problems/age, and/or... wait for it... depression! That's the big one. Been there, done that. Climbing out of that hole once again and getting my yard caught up, as we speak. You did a very nice thing here. It's hard to feel good about your home or situation when the 'face' you present to the public (your yard, in this case) feels so out of control, embarrassing and hopeless.

As I live in an apartment, I don't actually HAVE grass to cut. When I want to cut grass, I just buy some grass seeds , put them in a flower pot, and wait for them to grow! Then I manage to cut ALL of my grass myself! With scissors!

Yes meant so much to her, more then just cutting the grass. The yard was in bad shape, that was no small job! I can only imagine how good it has felt each time she arrives home & see's how beautiful her yard looks! Who knows it may even give her incentive to get outside more, now she can enjoy her yard. She may put some chairs out there, sit outside in the morning drink coffee. Have dinner in the evening. Possibly plant some flowers & herbs in that nice little spot out front of her door. This could really improve her health and her mental well-being if it needed a shot in the arm. And all because a stranger offered to do a good deed!! Endless possibilities of how this could have a ripple effect in her life and maybe her neighbors or daughter or her granddaughter that was there. They may feel inspired to do something nice like that for someone else and it could just go on and on that is so awesome! Bless you dude! The best to you always and I'll pray for your nephew 💜✌️✝️

It is amazing when somebody most my lawn and I live on a lot with people I have known almost my entire life because my father became disabled when I was 14 and unfortunately I have had an accident also but wouldn't be able to mow the lawn whether I hurt my back and hip or not because I just happened to be my severe asthmatic who's also allergic to grass and leaves and trees and things like that so even when I am on my oxygen in my house and have taken allergy medication- I frequently have a difficult time maintaining my oxygen saturation and with my back and spine problems just walking the entire lawn is very difficult and I can't imagine doing it with a lawn mower also especially because I have a retaining wall tell her then I am and I am 5 foot 10 so my backyard one side has a large Hill and one side has the two drastic height differences and then my front yard is of course similar in that one side is a giant Hill and the other side is flat so it is quite difficult for us! Just having degenerative conditions like degenerative disc disease and degenerative joint disease is difficult but to add spine issues and other medical things that make it very close to physically impossible- it's something you referred to as a simple thing, but when you have a hard time just walking in the yard- it isn't simple at all and that is why it is so meaningful and the opposite of simple. Although medically my father and I would both be considered disabled- neither of us like that label and we say that just like everyone else in the world we have challenges although ours may be different than other people- if we would help those with challenges different from our own I feel like we would have a significantly more kind and thoughtful Society and it would definitely be a more beautiful world to live in! So I have done things like adopted the widows and widowers on my block several of whom are almost 100! And I help them with things like using the internet and setting up apps and setting up rides and helping them make sure they're following up with medical care and getting there prescriptions squared away and the things that I can do on the phone because as we age many people lose their hearing so a bunch of phone calls becomes a big problem- and obviously the people that I help with those kinds of things are not going to be able to help mow my lawn, but I don't help them or invite them into my family and make sure that they have company and holiday meals and their birthday celebrated and their family informed of how their health is if their children don't live in state- and I called them my adopted grandparents since all my grandparents had passed away before I finished high school- that alone makes it mutually beneficial, but I don't do it for a benefit to me, I do it because I think it's the right thing to do and I want to live in a society where it's the norm rather than something that is celebrated!

My children & I cut my lawn for 40 years; then I hired a lawn service to do the work. From the first day the men came, I put out a pitcher of ice tea & paper cups, continuing to do it to this day. I put it out as soon as they come, they know it's there; no fuss is made by me or them; they smile & wave, showing their appreciation. To those reading this comment, take a hint...summers are hot, it's the least you can do to for the difficult & most-times thankless work they do. That this fellow offered his service, at no cost, is to his credit. The money is his pocket would have felt good, but he felt even better knowing his did a good deed for a person in need of help. While you were working cleaning up a yard your family came by and your little one was so adorable. Watching you helping others for free is so inspirational so many people need help and cannot afford to hire anyone and are to scared to ask for help, so I Thank God for you the way you help others. I cut grass for an elderly neighbor who couldn’t cut grass anymore and had breathing problems, and it broke my heart to see them in need and no one would help them so I went over with my riding mower and I just began cutting there grass and he came out and said he couldn’t afford it. I told him to go inside and don’t worry I’m doing it because I want to your my favorite neighbor. Well I kept cutting his grass and I felt so blessed and happy helping them. God Bless you for helping others. You Truly are a hero.

This is exactly what "Black Lives Matter" is trying desperately hard to get across to people. We are thought of and "treated" like a forgotten people. STOP!! 🚫 As a people, we are not asking u to give us anyyhing; we invent, save, work (as in the past) and build, etc. STOP ganging up on us (pooling your resources, which u stole and/or took from us) and destroying everything I put together to help myself (killing me in the process) 😥! Black people have come from the "out house" to the White House", which shows the world, I can do it, with or without u!

This video touched a part of my soul that hasn’t been touched in a very long time. When I was young (age 9 through age 17ish), my dad ran a lawn care service in Illinois. Since Illinois spring/summer is only about 5 months out of the year, he would essentially be unemployed the rest of the year (outside of plowing snow for home owners and a handful of local businesses). My mom had recently had my little brother and was unable to work due to lack of money for child care. So from the age of 9-17 my dad and I worked together, sometimes 10, 12, even 14 or more hours per day 6 days per week. I remember one time hearing my parents talk about finances and I recall my mom saying, “we only made $7,300 last year (years 1992-1999),” and proceeded to discuss ways to come up with the money to pay our $77 water bill. I said all of that to say this: The majority of my dad’s clients were elderly, widowed ladies in their 70’s-80’s. There were so many times where I witnessed my dad finish cut one of his regular, weekly clients lawns and tell them they didn’t have to pay him for that week, because he knew they were quietly struggling. I also remember getting sooooooo upset with him when he did this (I was just kid who lacked life experiences, who knew how bad we were struggling, worked every day every summer for 7 years and never got paid. Even though I knew he wanted to pay me, he just couldn’t afford to. This level of yearly income places is in a level of poverty that was unbearable and very embarrassing at times. So naturally, I only saw things in a very teenaged boy, selfish perspective at the time. It took a long time to finally understand what my dad was actually doing. Not only was he showing love and compassion to a group of his clients who desperately needed the blessing than we needed the money (even though we were dirt poor, we were young and healthy and had the ability to continue working after their lawn was cut that day, the next day, the next day and so on. These clients could not. Most of them were either in wheelchairs, heavily relied on a walker and/or could hardly see due to loss of eyesight.), he was also teaching his son to be compassionate and empathetic to others’ situations; that when positive energy is generously and genuinely given, with no expectation of anything in return (in some cases the refusal and insistence in not accepting payment because the good deed just meant more that day), that energy comes back to you ten fold in times when it’s truly needed. (I also remember after hearing my parents’ discussion about the $77, our water did not get shut off). This whole thing thing can be summed up in 3 words: God Is Good. Gentlemen, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this video. It blessed my soul; and for a moment, allowed me a moment to step back in time and relive a pivotal experience/life lesson that undoubtedly helped mold me into the man that I am today.

Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Fortunately for us, our story absolutely has had a happy ending. After graduating high school, I was blessed enough to be awarded a partial academic and athletic scholarship to a small liberal arts college, where I received a double Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and English (circa 2006). By this time the family situation had changed dramatically (especially for a family like ours that came from less than nothing). My younger brother was now 9 (or 10?) and in school full time. My mom then found a job at the local grocery store (family owned in a town of 1,900 people), as the Deli Manager, where she was making $5.25/hr. Although I was able to secure a partial scholarship, I still had to participate in a work-study program (cake walk!) and still had to ultimately find a way to scrape together a small monthly tuition payment of $170/mo. This absolutely stressed me out, knowing the burden that this additional $170/mo would place on my parents. However, so not forget; God is good (all the time!). Roughly one month after leaving for my freshman year, my dad randomly had received a call from an old boss/friend from a newspaper printing press which he worked at roughly 20 years prior, asking if he’d like a job and if he could start the following Monday. He also offered my dad full health benefits and $20/hr (over the phone, same phone call!). My parents were absolutely blown away by such a blessing, which came from out of the blue. To some this may sound insignificant, but to a family that (if you do the math), was earning roughly $3.50/hr on average running the lawn care business, this moment was life-changing. Obviously, he accepted without hesitation. It was also about to be October so breaking the news to his clients was fairly easy since the cold season was around the corner. Fast forward 13 years. My brother is grown and out of the house working in construction.my dad had suffered some health issues (most major being 1. falling 10’ off a ladder at the printing press and fracturing several vertebrae, causing insane amounts of nerve damage and 2. Going through a quadruple bypass heart surgery. At this point (2018), he was no longer able to work (ironic how he was so quickly becoming just like one of his lawn care clients, needing help with things. At this point, my mom had made the scary decision and pivoted into uncharted territory and decided to start an in-home, licensed daycare. From 2008 until COVID hit, the daycare did well enough to keep bills paid, but with all of my dad’s mounting health issues, they were forced to refinance their house (which they were able to purchase for $20,000 with the help of a co-sign from my grandparents…but that’s a story for another time). It’s now 2018 and I have been married to the love of my life since 2010, and have 3 amazing children. Since graduating college, I had bounced around quite a bit, mainly working in business-to-business sales. Until I finally followed suit and tore a small piece from my mom’s cloth, pivoted, and started a general contracting company (with the only construction experience coming from helping remodel my parents’ $20,000 house so many years ago). Without a single doubt, every experience/struggle I went through growing up was preparing me for this unorthodox path. (2016) I spent the next 3 months teaching myself how to read blueprints, learn construction terminology and project management (I was laid off from my most recent sales job and had 90 days worth of unemployment). I made a deal with my wife that if I did not secure any construction clients within this first 90 days, I would find another sales job. Long story short (ha…this is a novel already 🤦‍♂️): After about two months, I quickly knew that I would specifically focus on targeting large wood-framing apartment building construction projects. By the grace of God, with nothing more than a newly acquired DBA, a new business bank account and a website I thought myself how to build, I managed to secure a contract on a 70,000sf apartment project, where my responsibility would be installing the siding as well as the Sheetrock. Ultimately, the contract was just north of $500,000. I look back at this and still cannot believe what it has blossomed into in 5 short years. All of this was said to share this: As COVID was beginning to pick up steam, so so many people, companies and family-owned businesses began to suffer dearly. At that time, given my dad’s underlying health issues and my parent’s ages, they were considered high risk and my mom made the heartbreaking decision to close the doors on her daycare. With only a disability check my dad was receiving for $400/mo, it took no time for them to very quickly fall behind on all of their bills, including their mortgage, which they had refinanced several times over, in a desperate attempt to keep their heads above water. At this time, my mom called me and humbly asked me if they could borrow $300, since this was the amount that they were short this particular month to cover their bills. In my entire life, this was the first time either of my parents had ever asked me for a single penny. Without hesitation, I said yes and sent them a check for $1,000. Two days later my mom called me upset, saying that she had only asked for $300 and that it would take them years to pay this $1,00 back. I told her it wasn’t a loan, but rather a gift that I do not want back and that I would immediately tear up any check she were to send, attempting to still pay it back. Although so many good people have suffered through the economic hardship that COVID has caused, our business has been beyond blessed. At the time that news broke of the virus, we were already in the middle of the wood framing scope of work on a 300,000sf apartment complex. Fortunately for us, projects this size can take a year or more to complete, and really can’t be paused once in motion. About a month after sending my parents $1,000, we were talking on the phone (side note: we have relocated to Houston, and only see my parents in Illinois 1-2 times per year). During our call, she mentioned that they were scheduled to go into their bank to discuss refinancing their mortgage for a 3rd time , with the ultimate idea of using the funds pulled from the house equity to live on and pay bills. Out of curiosity, I asked roughly how much was remaining on the current mortgage in order for the house to be paid off in full. She said they still owed roughly $25,000, but refinancing would cause their mortgage to increase their monthly payments from $360/mo to close to $800/mo. Once we got off the phone, I could NOT stop thinking about their situation. The next day, I mentioned the situation to my wife to see what she thought is the whole thing. Very quickly, we both began to realize what needed to be done. Over the previous year and a half, we had been saving as much money from the company’s profit as possible, with the ultimate goal of saving enough to build our first home. At that current time, we had managed to save just over $35,000. The project we were currently completing was only about 50% complete and I was in negotiations with this client to secure the framing contract on their next project, which was in the neighborhood of $2,000,000. By the end of me and my wife’s conversation, the decision had been made. Through some very clever probing questions with my grandparents later that day, I figured out what bank my parents’ mortgage was with. By 3:00 that day I managed to get their loan officer on the phone. I informed her I knew of my parents’ plans to refinance, and knowing how devastating/borderline impossible it would be for them to successfully make the new mortgage payment, I couldn’t allow that to happen. I informed her that my wife and I would like to pay off the balance in full and pull my parents from under this suffocating burden. To the loan officer’s surprise, she gave me the exact balance owed and the address to where I could overnight a cashiers check. At this time, I realized that as great of a gesture this was, it actually didn’t solve their issue as to why they were looking to refinance in the first place; cash to pay their bills and survive on until this pandemic was finally over. So before handing up, I told her I would be sending two cashiers checks; one for the full balance to lay off the house and another for $10,000 to be deposited directly into their personal checking account. The next day, the loan officer and I came up with a fun plan to place a 3-way call, where she would call my parents to give them the news that their mortgage had been paid in full. As you could imagine it was quite the emotional phone call. To this day, I’m convinced this was Gods plan all along. Of you took the time to read my last comment from several days, you understand what I mean. Here’s how I saw the situation; “There won’t be a charge for today’s’ grass being cut. Out of all the times you have brought me lemonade when I’m out here on a hot day, today’s cut is my way of showing you my appreciation… no worries, when I leave here, I still have several lawns to cut today, the next day and the next day. If you somehow made it through this very long-winded comment, I appreciate you taking the time to allow me to share one of the greatest accomplishments I’ve been blessed to be a part of. 🙏🏽 ☮️

Found your channel by chance. It’s nice to see young people doing something positive in this screwed up world we live in today. I wish people were more caring and generous at this time, this world would be a better place to live!

My grandfather had his own lawn care business when I was growing up. I started helping him around 11-12 years old and worked with him till I graduated high school. We did house yards, apartment complexes, clean up jobs..you name it. I’ve personally always enjoyed yard work. I really didn’t realize how much my grandfather taught me from fixing lawnmowers - to how to properly cut a yard and just producing good quality work all around. Just this week I was out cutting our yard, trimming the bushes and pulling weeds with my kids. I’ve been telling my husband I want to go around our neighborhood to help the elderly with their yards, no charge of course but I’m too shy. This is really motivating. Thank you for sharing this!!

Sabrina, I've been thinking about the same thing, but I'm as shy as you are. But I guess that with just a friendly hi and a simple question would be a good way to have that ball rolling.

It's funny ( not ) how people are shy to help someone , when the LORD our GOD command us to do so

Hi Sabrina, just even in passing say to them, if you ever need help with your yard, I am willing to help and definitely no charge. Because that's the biggest worry, when money is tight. We all need to take a leaf from this Man's book. What a different world we would live in. But it is coming pretty soon, watch this space 👍😉🇮🇪🍀

You did her a service that was so appreciated. I'm older and I got a tire that literally shredded up. I pulled into a grocery store shopping center grinding on my rim. A man came right over with his wife and changed it for me. Even making sure my spare was inflated correctly. I was in tears. I'm disabled. I cannot say or thank that man and his wife for his kindness enough. What you do really is a blessing. Thank you for helping her! ❤🌹
