Fox is a good player, but look at the amount of talent Fox has out there with him vs who the sixers had out there and the kings lose and Fox is asking for more talent. And that isn’t just last night’s game, the kings have consistently lost to bad teams throughout Fox’s time with the kings. KC said it perfectly 2 days on DLO and KC- “Fox, we have you already, why are we not better? You’re suppose to be the franchise guy.” His play isn’t consistent enough to make it to the playoffs apparently and he feels he needs a TON of talent to do it. I feel this trade request is best for the kings. Get all you can for him and diversify your talent. Get draft picks and keep building. This team wasn’t going to make it anyways.

The Kings go by the way Fox plays. With his skills, he can score whenever he wants to by attacking the rim using his speed or pulling up for the mid. But he often just fires up a 3 or is walking the ball up the court. Use your advantage & what got you there! The Kings shot half their shots from 3 pt land, connecting on only a quarter of them. Relying on the 3, you won't win many games.

This was the first game that me as a De’Aaron Fox fan said….man he really looks like he’s just going through the motions out there….he’s better than that. Speaking as a Spurs fan, the price of castle, vassell, and lucrative picks seems warranted from the King's perspective but it isn't necessarily ideal for the Spurs. There is really no rush to get a deal done, especially for this deadline. In my opinion, Fox will not be the last star player to try and team up with Wemby...Fox also doesn't quite seem like the final piece to really try and go all in for to cash out on all of the assets we have.Yes he is a great player and the idea of him with Wemby sounds nice but I think the Spurs would be wise to be content with what we have with vassell and castle, who could still very well become a very solid defensive point guard next to wemby (not to mention our guard-play would take a huge hit with those two players gone)...I think talks would probably intensify over the off-season but even if the Spurs miss out on Fox, we still win because we still have all our lucrative picks, our young talent, and of course Wemby so I don't think the Spurs are losing any sleep over it. We are still in a primed position for the future with or without Fox.

The spurs never make deals like this let alone in season let alone without pop being around. The kings have no leverage. Fox and clutch did them a favor by saying he’s willing to play for other teams but that doesn’t mean he’s resigning there. The spurs can just sit back and see what happens in the off season. Chances are they still won’t trade for him knowing the spurs and they’ll just wait to see what happens free agency. The kings need to play this smart because the spurs offer is not going to include castle or vassell knowing that fox prefers them. At this rate if the spurs offer includes either vassell or castle the kings will be lucky to get that with how the spurs operate.

Agreed. I don’t see the Spurs pursuing this trade also especially if it involves Castle/Vassel/Sochan. I think I also saw a post recently in one of the Spurs fanpages that the team is also not looking to trade KJ. Looks like they’re gonna ride this season out with CP3 and Barnes. This is still a developmental year after all. And the Spurs probably wants to keep their draft picks especially for the upcoming 2025 draft class that appears to be stacked. The Spurs are just in year 2 of rebuild and they typically rebuild throught the draft. They’re not known for making flashy trades. And they still have a long way to go with their current rebuild. Getting Fox now won’t solve their current problems. It won’t make them suddenly a contender. I think players wanting to go to the Spurs right now just wants the exposure that teaming up with Wemby brings. Anyways, I think this is just all smoke. Fox will probably not get traded this deadline.

No the spurs will not lose sleep if fox joins another team or they lose out on him. The spurs have never been the type of organization to make big splashes like this let alone in season let alone with their actual head coach not around. If this happens it happens in the off season. Even then the kings are better off trying to fix the relationship with fox or convincing him to expand the list of teams he’ll resign to. The spurs are not going to offer a great deal for fox and it’s not because they over value their young guys. It’s less about castle and more about where wemby is right now as a player. He’s very talented and clearly a generational talent but he’s inconsistent and relies too much on his talents and frankly just makes very bad decisions mainly on offense. Wemby has stated he wants to win but he’s also said he trust the spurs process and well the spurs process has never included making big splashes in season. The spurs are in no rush to rush their process. If the kings aren’t planning on a rebuild then they better work with fox to look for another team because the spurs are not giving the kings a good deal. If the goal for the kings is to continue with this core of players and continue to be a fringe playoff team then if I’m the kings I look to help the suns and heat with their deal and take back someone like Beal.

Matt, you need to stop thinking of Fox as our best player. He's not. His raw numbers look great, sure, but look at his advanced metrics. He's outside the top 40 in PER (42nd), VORP (45th), BPM (56th), TS% (118th), and win shares per 48 (80th). He's 19th in usage, which is why ppg, steals, and all the raw numbers look good. He's an inefficient player. Contrast with Domas, who is top 10 in all those categories, but is 78th in usage. Sure, Fox has the ability to turn it on in the 4th, but I think his mentality of, "I'll just give 75% until the 4th and then we can come back," is exactly the problem with this team as a whole. You've criticized them for having slow starts. Fox is the main reason for that.

First of all, unlike what most people think, Fox is not our best player! Domas is! Sure, Fox can be our best scorer at times, but he is not nearly as consistent as Domas and does not have the same winning effect that Domas has! Take Fox out of the lineup for 10 games and Domas out for 10 games and then compare the 2 records during those 10 game stretches, I guarantee you there would be more loses without Domas. I do think that if by some miracle the front office hits a home run with a Fox trade actually makes the team better as well as another deal that fills in more quality depth. I say keep Monte and crew for the rest of the season for stability purposes and see what happens? Whatever happens short of making the conference or NBA finals, go ahead and fire Monte & Wes in the summer! There inaction cost us DeAaron Fox and that is a fatal mistake! I mean, I think monte has done an amazing job roster talent wise. You guys keep complaining about the holes and I can’t see who they missed on? Siakam wasn’t gonna resign. Anunoby you didn’t have the assets to trump the Knicks move. They built this roster in a win now mode with not having the assets to build it correctly. This lead to where they are in not having enough assets to build it out. Idk why the FO thinks they can be the exception to how to build a contender. You get free agency, trades and the draft. Sacramento is a FA destination unless you have something to attract Free agents so cross that off. You need assets for trades which goes back to vlades mismanagement to not really having much talent and only your own 1st round picks. Don’t forget when we got Fox at 5 we won the 3rd pick in the lottery but swapped with Philly for those swaps. 3rd was Tatum. I know Boston woulda taken him 1st, but who knows you have a lot more leverage at 3 than 5. Passing on DONCIC because of Fox when you coulda taken DONCIC and eventually traded Fox for more assets, real player or both. Know that’s before monte, but these moves affected Monte’s flexibility that lead to today. Lastly the draft which yes you gotta hit, but most title teams were built mostly through the draft, the exception being la. Who got AD from trading picks and their previous lottery picks (Ingram and ball) for him. Toronto traded their original pick of derozan for Leonard. That’s pretty much the route champions Start their build. You can say the kings have struggled at picking, but that’s how you start most accents.

Well, the Kings have tended to trade their draft picks in recent years including at least Davion Mitchell & Tyrese Haliburton. Then there is Marvin Bagley they also traded, along with Harrison Barnes, but trading Sabonis & DeRozan is not likely I think this month.

Only the Sacramento Queens can believe that any team trading away their Best player will still make it to the playoffs!! Laughable!! Thank God the Kings will be in mediocre island for the next 10 years searching for the next Fox lol.. at least the tickets will be cheap for other fans to come see their team at golden1.
