Great review. Emotiva was my first time with separates and i think I’ve got a great setup (XMC-1 and XPA7 Gen 3). Never any issues what so ever.

@@theatremad9797 Marantz and Denon are known for faulty HDMI boards. I had two Denons go out within a year. Never again. Looking for something different next time. I do have two Marantz that seem to be working.

I have exactly the same system and I am having problems wen I use Apple TV with static noise it happens mostly when I change content or switch to a different app and that's annoying!!! Thanks for the video Shane as always nice informative content.

My xmc-2 has been really stable. How did you set your levels? I used a radio shack meter and it sounds amazing. The xmc-2 doesn't have the funky multi directional knob also. Looking forward to hearing how you like the rmc-1 compared to the xmc-2. Great review as always.

Best review I've seen on the RMC-1. I'm in the market for a Processor - is there anything else I should be looking in the price range of the RMC-1 or RMC-1L? My amp is a 5 channel emotiva xpa-gen3, so I would need to pick up an additional amp too. Not familiar with the DR3 amp -cool to learn about it. Cheers!

And now years later it's still 16 channels as none of the advertised expansion cards/upgrades ever materialized and it doesn't support new standards/no available upgrade path. So much for "future proof 28 channels". :/ Everyone would have been better off buying the cheaper RMC-1L, or another processor.

The Tonewinner AT-300 from summit HIFI is 16ch for only $1395. It’s not true 16 channels as 3 of the XLA inputs are for subs.

I just received the Emotiva RMC-1L and DR3 amp. However, I noted that the OLED display screens on the face plate are not the same blue as the rest of the Emotiva products (e.g. Gen3 amps, DR3 amp). The CEDIA videos and Emotiva web site do not indicate a difference in the color. SpareChange -- does your model have a blue-green display? Also -- does anyone know when the DIRAC will actually be available?

Have you tried upmixing stereo music using dts? Preferred DTS to Dolby upmixing on my Marantz but unlistenable on the RMC IMO. Maybe better in firmware beyond 1.5??

Hi Guys, Need help/advice. I'm close to pulling the trigger on the RMC-1L, 16 Channel is more than enough for me as much as I'd like to think otherwise. How upgradeable are these units? Something I wasn't away of is that there is no WiFi - so how would you keep the unit upto date? I always thought these things were more like computers.... Any help or advice would be great guys.... James

I went with the XMC-2 as it also has 16 channels and pretty much the same processing power as the RMC-1. The only difference is only the LCR channels are fully differential. I have the DR3 powering my front stage

I have that amp with rf7ii and rc64. It pushes those speakers with ease and with plenty to spare. Sounds great to me. Is it better than higher end amps, i dont know, becusse i havent heard it.

@@SS-cs6wt Thanks, I ended up going with the Emotiva BasX- A3 (new series) for the LCR for now (145 wpc) And TBH it does get louder than with just the AVR but can't really notice. It is mostly noticeable when doing 2ch music. Might upgrade to the DR3 when I move into a bigger spot

Can someone help explain how to achieve LFE+Main setting in emotiva? Didn’t tinker with crossovers yet. Bass Mgmt is a bit unintuitive compared to Denon 😕

If you are trying to send bass to both the mains and subs then try this, "The option to Enable Enhanced Bass will be shown in the Speaker | Size menu when it is available. (The Enhanced Bass option is only available when some of your speakers are set to Large.)"

Hi, I am in INDIA and I recently compared the Emotiva DR3 and Anthem MCA 325 the newer product line. I have Dali Rubicon 8s and Rubicon Vokal for front stage. First I listened the Emotiva DR2 as demo (to take a glance if investment is worth) over my pioneer SC-LX 78 (during demo I used my pioneer AVR as pre-processor) and the difference was noticeable immediately. Sound opened-up with more body, dignity and detailed. I did not know that my Rubicons have better and tighter base than my Velodyn EQMax sub. I immediately realized that it was 800 Watts kicking and pumping the speakers. Then I purchased Anthem MCA 325 hoping that it will be better(as reviews said), but the moment I switched-on, the difference were not as good as Emotiva. I don't know for sure if Anthem did not match with my speakers or my pioneer avr pre-amp but it was not the same experience which I heard during Emotiva DR2. Then finally I went for Emotiva DR3 which is marginally costly from Anthem but I was able hear back the same sound as DR2's. But this could be just my system and what I learned from this that reviews are just for reference but your own experience can be completely different based on what your system is.

@@jlm8699 if you get a used one at a good price then yeah that's great product but most cases you can get a decent receiver with an additional 3 channel amp to drive let's say the fronts if they are large and you wouldn't know the difference but in price saving..the biggest improvement you can do to audio is acoustical panels and traps -bar none..the least to me is actually this part..the processor and amp..
