Mr Sacchette, thank you for building my new 1600 dual port long block. It replaced the original 50 year old motor the push around a super beetle for 346,000 miles. It was rebuilt a few times. New engine runs so quiet compared to the old it's a hard to believe.

If I buy a long block and I'm not actually going to be putting it in my buggy for say like 6 months or however long it's going to take me to get the rest of the parts ( transmission etc. together ) does that warranty begin the moment I receive the long block or the moment I actually fire the engine up ?
@Rick-i4u3 ай бұрын
I'm gonna guess that starts the day of the purchase
@JamesBrown-1263 ай бұрын
@@Rick-i4u yet Jack mentioned it was prepared so that the engine could sit dormant for even a year before being started. Wouldn't that mean that the warranty had expired by then 😕

James, most customers are building out long blocks upon receiving the crate...if you have special circumstances talk with your EMPI dealer for support

@@EMPI_Inc then why did Jack say that it was prepped and could sit for up to a year

@@JamesBrown-126 James, if you intend to buy a Long Block and not install it immediately please notify the EMPI dealer you purchase from about your build schedule and your warranty will be intact

Oh please, many smaller shops have been offering 12/x warranties. I appreciate someone continuing to provide parts, but let's not get carried away. 5k for a long block 1600 vs a kit? Hope Jack is making $$$$$ off of what is claimed as a DYI assemble kit.
@JamesBrown-1263 ай бұрын
@@timpindell8178 yes I agree everybody else I've seen also has 12 months or 12,000 mi on their warranties
@EMPI_Inc3 ай бұрын
thanks for your perspective Tim, you are missing a couple of important facts- EMPI Long Blocks are constructed from all new components, no used or recycled parts and EMPI keeps Long Blocks on the shelf for rapid delivery...when we launched Long Blocks it was common to wait an average of 3-6 months, also, not every local shop has someone with knowledge and experience that Jack has ....also please note the DIY engine kit EMPI offers is EXACTLY what Jack builds with
