Ancestors style to this would be perfection, and make perfect sense as Ants have been around since before the dinosaurs. Lots of history and game levels that be created with its own unique twist to gameplay and exploration.

I was about to say the same thing too. It's just like a rock paper scissors game and with some counters being akin to that of say Halo Wars and Starcraft. Orange Warriors will counter Blue Workers, equal to but is countered by Green Gunners. Blue Workers will counter Green Gunners, but is countered by Orange Warriors. Green Gunners will counter Orange Warriors, but is countered by Blue Workers. Red Super Predators are I could guess counters Warriors, Workers and Gunners. A all rounder, but could be weak if not supported, as while they are strong, it is unwise to send them out alone less they be crushed by more than one enemy Legions. And Grey Supports can't fight back and will be countered by all 4 mentioned Legions. And if I remember, Aphid Support Legions can't heal your units if in combat, thus best to use them as a mobile healing spot any Legions can go to and from after pulling back from the fight before heading back in said fight. You can see to the right edge of the unit's circle, there are colored arrows that show in these examples: If a Warrior Legion are fighting another Warrior Legion, both will have 2 Yellow arrows facing both up and down, that means they can't counter each other and are even match. If a Worker Legion is fighting a Gunner Legion, the Workers will have a Green arrow facing up while Gunners have a red arrow facing down. That means the Workers have the advantage over the Gunners by countering them.

It so hurt me when you started to fight against the termites and almost every time you allocated the possibly worst unit to fight theirs. It is Rock-scissor-paper. Workers beat ranged units, ranged units beat Warriors, warriors beat workers. Dor Beetle beat everyone, Aphids lose to everyone. The termites use the same colour code as your units. i.e. their Warriors are yellow, their workers are blue and their ranged units are green.

Anyone remember the game by Sierra? I think it was just called Ants. You got to go under ground and dig tunnels, and go above ground to collect food and battle and expand... I was really hoping this was going to be something like that. I do love the exploration though! But the RTS isn't really for me. That said, I'd listen to Fooster read the phone book, and I am enjoying his playthrough regardless!

I know you mentioned to Fisk about ppl wanting you to play Ark, and said he didn't like it. But, as much as you like dinosaurs, I'm surprised you've never played it solo PVE. It's one of my favorite games. I have around 4500 hrs in ASE and about 900 hrs in ASA and I only play single player PVE.

I think for them to play Ark they'd probably need to make it into something like the old scum series where they played characters and had other people playing factions or it probably wouldn't be enjoyable for them. I love Ark too but it does lack any goal besides "make base better, get better Dino's, fight boss" which i do love but endgame gets boring for me and I move on from it. It fits for people like Syntac because that's their target audience obviously and like Neebs gaming do good series because they just stuff around a lot. It would be a cool series if maybe fooster, Fisk, Olaf and taco made a tribe then they got some friends or community members to make a few other tribes then made up a goal or something for them to achieve. Like having a main tribe that needs to be taken down because they are evil tyrants trying to take over the map or something and the other tribes need to meet and team up or something. But yeah, I'd love to see it but I can see why they don't play unfortunately

I really like the mix of a single player adventure and RTS missions. I wish more games did this. Like, imagine Starcraft 3, where you could play as an individual unit in addition to RTS (at least in campaigns, but I can see how that would change the early game too). It was done in a very old RTS called Machines, where you could actually switch to a first person into any unit on a battlefield.

I agree with you, Fooster. You have to care about the characters. Another thing is the exploration side. Its such a cool concept to be a small creature and looking at the world from a different point of view,. I would be so excited to go on adventures and taking it all in, doing quests. So I think the developers made a mistake by limiting the exploration side. Honestly I wouldn't care too much if you didn't play this game again. Watching you play Ancestors was great btw.
