The Spanish put up more of a fight than the French so far in FRANCE

You tend to rush your deployments for each battle and somehow don't realise that bullets and cannons don't travel over allies heads (same in your Shogun games when you use muskets). Cannon centre and then a strong zig zag line of infantry will just steam roller the enemy but either way...watch that friendly fire!

Sometimes I forget but often I intend to use soft inclines. Also when it comes to cavalry, double lines are good since the the shots are aimed up and often miss the infantry whilst hitting the cav. The zig zag is a nice thought though but not something ideal for deployment because the extremities would get hit first.

Got to make it difficult somehow I guess. Going to war with 4 of the most powerful nations is one way to do that haha.

Kind of surprised you tried to take Paris so early, without other territories taken for a good economy that could support a hold on France.
