The Cheetah Girls was a movie about music, not a musical. But it still deserves credit for testing the waters of what the network could do with music.

I’m so glad I got to experience Disney in its golden age (2001-2009), back when there wasn’t just white lead actors for every show/movie, like every little girl had somebody they could look up too. As a little latina girl, I loved seeing Adrienne in The Cheetah Girls because I had somebody to relate too, just like my best friend in elementary school was mixed and she could relate to raven’s character and I was always playing Chanel whenever me and my friends would play Cheetah girls at recess 😭😭
