What a lovely new home. I love the window in the kitchen. You look like you will have enough wardrobes to not require a set of drawers which will help with bedroom space. Nice you have another balcony for drying things etc. Thanks for sharing it is nice to be able to picture what you have been talking about for so long.

We already gave our dresser to Thee and Dan as we wouldn't fit it in the bedroom with the dog beds. But I think the wardrobe space will be fine for us. Unfortunately we aren't allowed to dry things on our balcony but I'll just open the door up and have my clothes line just inside.

Libby the apartment looks fabulous. If I was you and I had time between settlement and date you need to move from the house in the trees I would do the move into the apartment slowly. I would take over lots of the stuff from storage and get that packed away first, while still sleeping in the house, otherwise if you get everything delivered all at once and are sleeping there day one I think you will be overwhelmed. Take your time, if you can. 😀

After waiting all this time there is no way we could move in slowly - even though it would be a good idea. All the boxes from storage we are going to put into the studio room (my exercise area) and they will be unpacked later, except for the things like my pots, which I will need sooner rather than later.

Beautiful! Never too much storage!! Awesome kitchen too + very nice view. I know you know all this 😂 but it’s lovely. Glad you love it. It reminds me of when Chris and I moved from renting a 5 bedroom house in the mountains to our first home buy of a 2 bedroom apartment. It was a great exercise in not buying stuff we didn’t need anymore. 😊

Why were you shocked about the bedroom size. Libby did you really say too much storage for you guys. View is lovely.

It was just a surprise at first, even though we knew it would only just fit our bed and the dog beds in it. I think the comment about too much storage might have been wishful thinking. That's okay, I'll still be working on reducing what I have, once I see what I'm not using/needing in the apartment.

Did you get to tell them what you wanted in your apartment or are all apartments the same, where will you take the dogs to the bathroom at?

There are a number of different floor plans, layouts that we could chose from. But each level of each block has the same layout. So there are 3 others like ours (below us). There were a number of colour schemes to chose from. After having totally designed two other homes I was so glad not to have to make ALL the selections this time around. I will take the dogs out for regular walks, there is grass right outside the main door and all around the complex. And we will have a little bit of real grass on our balcony for emergencies.
