This is certainly a beautiful ship and I love the Promenade deck. The drydock was very successful in removing the Princess feel of the ship which was long overdue. I do hope we see her in Australia and sailing with passengers in the near future.

Great video cheers keep safe look forwards to new video. All the best Philip

I read that your government is talking about keeping international tourists out until 2024! I am so sad. I have a 21 day New Zealand/Queensland bucket list cruise booked for Feb 2022, but it sounds like that will not happen. I hope you get cruising soon.
@anniemon3 жыл бұрын
@@lovecruisin6457 the Federal Government announced this week, borders closed until Mid 2022. Also depends on vaccine rollout. This has been slow & now is starting to increase. Then we have to see the results before that date is brought forward or pushed back. My guess is your cruise will be cancelled because if there are cruises, they will be different anyway. It’s a big ‘if’ they start & likely to be only in one country. So your cruise would be rescheduled.

@@lovecruisin6457 of course this is only my opinion, trying to predict what our Health Departments decisions about cruise ships will be. My fear is they’re not considering anything. All action is getting people vaccinated & when the majority are, we’ll be allowed overseas. (Along with foreigners into Australia & NZ) Antartica is the place we’d love to go. Just a cruise up or down the coast will do for now!

Great video especially showing non passenger areas. My how the ship has changed since Dawn Princess days but at the same time knowing the layout of same. We were to sail on her back in 2020 after her dry dock in Singapore but alas our cruise got cancelled and she sailed without us back to Sydney. Hopefully in the near future it will happen and we can do our Singapore to Sydney cruise. Stay safe, hmm believe your probably in the safest place on earth at the moment, till your next video. Another great video looking forward to part 2. Would be great to see both the bow & stern mooring decks and an overview of the equipment and operations in those areas. ECR obviously a great one to see but not sure how you would get sign off to show that in any detail. I remember doing a behind the scenes tour on P&O Oriana (now the MV Piano Land) and they were so nervous about telling us anything and turned most of the VDU’s off. Maybe and explanation by you about why the ECR is so well protected would be a great topic to discuss in a video. Bridge tour is going to be the video that takes your channel to the next level and one everybody will ask for, so I’ll just say I’m looking forward to that when it comes. Thanks again for taking the time out of your down time to make the videos, you keep a trucker entertained on his breaks. Regards Dave

I love your videos! That roulette wheel ceiling is awesome. That's a very clever feature. Honestly, these videos just make me kinda sad. To go from lively and fully occupied to absolute silence for over a year. Just...eerie. But then we have to remember that the cruise is industry is SO CLOSE to getting back into operation. People slam cruiselines for being unsanitary, overpriced, and overrated. But they are far from it, especially after all of this. There are thousands of hard-working men and women on these boats 24/7 keeping them up to speed for their eventual return. I commend those who stayed behind, away from their families during the pandemic, to man the ship and keep her in order.

This is my favourite ship! It was so depressing seeing the Pacific Explorer like that! I used to love going to the Black Circus each sea day morning for Cruise Directors Trivia and then Bingo, back in the afternoon for bingo. Sit in the Ocean Bar with a cocktail and listen to whoever is playing especially cruises when a Mr Danny Black was playing. Theme Nights Gatsby being my favourite as it made me feel special as I would go to the spa and get my hair and make-up done. Even going to the Casino and having a few dollars in the poker machines was fun.. Food was another favourite pastime on board. From the Pantry to the chicken wings at Luke's. OMG! ENGINE ROOM TOUR? Forecastle or anchor handling equipment area? Dry Stores? Central control room? Perhaps beg the captain for a glimpse of his cabin and yours and other top officers accommodations? A glimpse at the various levels of combination including your top suites ( marketing Department may appreciate that as you are starting to reach a large group of potential cruise passengers and showing off the combinations and benefits would be cool) basically an all access all area tour that may have some cool spots that was left off the "behind the scenes tour" . does P&O do that like celebrity does( I paid over 150 to see the innerworkings of the celebrity equinox) I feel it was kind of a rip off and a gimmick tour and it left off a lot of the cool stuff I had hoped to see since a lot of the ships are pretty much similar in their basic configuration it would be neat to see the difference in the different ships! I'm sure he stated this in prior videos but what is the normal passenger load and crew load still crew consist of are only the kitchens crew dining open I take it you can't read the deep freezers for some filet mignon's and cook them up in your cabin!!.... LOL JK thank you for all of your hard work and your consent continued dedication to your videos and being an advocate for the cruise industry keep up the hard work ! -Michael, USA

Happy Tuesday Alfie!!! So weird to see such a ship completely empty of passengers. I don't know if you're able to answer my question. Because maybe you can't say what's going on behind the doors of the shopping areas because of security reasons. But, I can't help but wonder what happened to all the stock of items in those shops? Is it still there? Or was items, like the jewels, taken off the ship? Say a big thanks to the second engineer, Rusha (spelling?) for his performance. I really liked it. (thumbs up) And can I ever see the changes from the original Dawn Princess ship setting. (WOW) Looking forward to seeing the rest of the tour!!! Hope you are all doing as good as possible there in the Singapore harbor.
@SameShipDifferentDay3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cory, I believe a lot of the stock was landed before she left Australia. However, it's possible that there is still some stock onboard. Especially anything ship specific. You can see they are actually security seals on the doors so we would only enter in there was an emergency
@lesliemckay28353 жыл бұрын
Hi Alfie, Thanks for your tour of the ship. I am looking forward to our up-coming cruise in her in December and trying all the venues you have highlighted. Have you hears of the release from the Home Affairs department in Australia stating that "All foreign-flagged cruise ships must employ Australian staff for hospitality and non specialised rolls." It goes on to say "The government is insisting cruise ship operators wanting to sail Australian waters must employ Australians to take on Hospitality and other non-specialised jobs, despite a shortage of such staff across the country". This is a direct copy of what New Zealand did to the Le Laperouse in January 2021. Headline "Government halts cruise ship, insists crew must be Kiwi". It is a Government making decisions to shift the blame from them to the cruise operators. I know you are restricted with what you can say, but I just wanted to let you and your colleagues know we support you. 🚢👍
