Totally agree. Having an attached bathroom is so nice too, and then the other bathroom can just be for guests! You could also split that bigger closet between you and your partner, and then you take the smaller closet in the guest bedroom for overflow/off-season/less-used clothing.

I would consider putting a daybed situation in the second bedroom. That way you can enjoy that gorgeous indoor/outdoor hangout space but still have space for guests. Unless you are having guests stay constantly you would get so much more use out of the room that way.

Yessss I was imagining a nice big vining plant (i.e. pothos, or monstera adansonii) above the kitchen cabinets going all the way across the top!!! Would be gorg and look so fresh

If you don’t have a proper entryway, the corner you talked about putting the bookshelves could be nice for a mirror, place to leave your keys, etc instead. Then the second bedroom could be such a cute reading and crafting space to hang out in with a daybed type of situation, maybe a desk, and the indoor/outdoor feel from the patio. Then your main bedroom doesn’t need to double as anything else which I think is always nice, like you can just prioritize making it as comfortable for sleeping and relaxing as possible

Cookbooks and a mini rechargeable lamp or lighting in the kitchen nook would be CUTE!!!! The porch is AMAZIGN!!!!! Twinkle lights and furniture out there will be magic. I swear we are house twins: renting, old with stain glass but updated kitchen etc. Truly a dream so happy for you!!!

I love that the first room is the bed room! It’s so perfect because it’s bigger! Maybe the second bedroom can be like a dressing room / office/ guest room! My partner and i did that for our second bedroom and it works so well! Then the bed room can be just a room with not a lot of chaos. So maybe you can put the drawers in that second room somehow? I’m not sure hahah! But having your room be just a space for sleep and not have clothes or any extras in there has been a godsend!

Amazon has tons of window cling stuff that you can use on your kitchen cabinets. We have black cabinets, and used a bronze, slightly mirrored film on two glass cabinets, and it makes a huge difference. Even clear fluted would help you not worry about what’s inside.

you could do a fluted or other textured, partly translucent, film on the kitchen cabinets so that it still has the glass look but hides the cabinet contents more! plus it would add some visual interest!

OMG I just subscribed to you about an hour ago. Watched the video with the ten options first but didn’t leave a comment. This was my favorite also. It’s warm and so charming. I would put really beautiful rugs and runners everywhere and plants. I agree with the mirror idea in the dining room and would also put a big one on one of the walls that you wanted for bookshelves. I think bookshelves on both walls could feel tied. Also, lambs are your friend here. I personally don’t like nor count only on over head lighting. It’s not very warm and personal. Floor lamps and table lamps with dimmers would be great! The little open shelf in the kitchen is used for cookbooks I think. We also moved from LA here and the first thing I noticed about Atlanta was how blue the sky is and how it’s almost always sunny. Get ready for the summers here. They are brutal and the bugs aren’t much better. That said, we love living here. It has everything LA had but you can enjoy it more because homes and rents are so much cheaper here. The utilities here are brutal though. Water and electricity specifically! But we also have a home with a huge lawn! Thanks for sharing!

The second room should be set up with a sofa bed… it provides a guest room and entertainment space so when friends come over you can hang out in that room and have access to the outside space… kinda like a secondary living room
