I for one would love to see home series on this channel. Like decorate with me, new furniture deliveries and just in general how you style the home. Im guessing you dont live in Britain. Lydia lives in the North Hampshire area which is like 2 hours away from London. Her house is in the country side. Where as this house is much more modern and it is in the city as Amie mentioned in the video. These features you mentioned can be found in most modern homes in Britain its just a design aspect. 😀

I’d have the second floor room with the bathroom and adjoining room as your master room and turn the adjoining room into your closet. The top floor could be a luxury guest room and with built in storage in place of a loft xx

It’s going to be a beautiful and cosy home for you and Dan, Amie! I love all all windows with streaks of light streaming in. Actually, take your time to curate beautiful items to fill your home. Don’t rush into getting things which you may regret. Less is more! If I were you, I would do up the master bedroom with low shelves filled with books and lounge around all day just reading them while gazing out the beautiful garden! 😘

Looks great! The two bedrooms with no bathroom door are because they are single rooms - so you don't need a door - and you also get the added bonus of the light from the bathroom skylight coming into the bedroom. Do you not have a clothes washer and dryer? Did you get a garage? Curtains/blinds?

Just a thought on how else you could utilise the space. If it was me (oh if only!) I think I would want my dressing area and bedroom together so would use one of the bedrooms with the Jack & Jill bathroom as my bedroom then the other one as the dressing room. Makes it all very user friendly to get ready. The top floor room could be an amazing extra living space which I would use more for relaxing, reading or hobbies.... for you guys, it would also be a fab work space and would mean that you go up there to work but then switch off from work when you come back down to the lower floors. Takes a while to figure out how you are going to live in a house and what works best but it's a beauty of a house so you will have a wonderful time figuring things out. Congratulations

Major cupboard envy here! The kitchen and the two ancillary rooms look so good, and I love the dark paint colour. The exposed loos are a bit strange - not only are the doors absent, but the loos themselves are on prominent display! The garden also looks lovely - and that view from your main bedroom is beautiful. Good luck to you both in your new home. Side note: this was so well filmed, showing the rooms slowly and without the camera jumping around, as in many other home tours I've seen.

Not just a London thing. I have seen homes in Germany and Poland with no closets. I think some newer homes are built with closets.

It's so confusing to me that some countries don't have bedroom closets. Is there a reason for that? The home is gorgeous. So happy for you. Hopefully you can get some colors in there for some personality to such a blank, white slate. It's so much fun to decorate. Enjoy!

Closets are actually an American thing. Typically in the UK and Europe we buy free standing wardrobes.

Wondering if Dan hits his head on the ceiling in the “master” bedroom. That looks more like a children’s en-suite. The low ceilings and need for more stair climbing lend it to that. Wouldn’t you rather move the master bedroom to the 2nd floor to be closer to your “closet’?

I think the technical reasons for this is to keep the heat in in the winter to lower heating costs, and keep it out in the summer since there aren't widespread use of AC

Many reasons really. Its cold most of the year so to keep the heat in and also doors need to be in homes incase there is a fire in the house. Closing a door can stop the fire quickly spreading to the whole house

It's so interesting to see how different the homes in the UK are compared to the US! Three-story homes are quite rare here but the ones I've seen usually have the entire first floor as the car garage and storage, living room and kitchen on the second, and sleeping areas on the third floor.
