I'm glad you find the video helpful. If you are interested in meditation, find a zen center near you. Most important is returning to your true self and using that to help others.

Thank you for such a beautiful chant. I play this Bell Chant every morning as I stir my porridge. My head is empty of thoughts and I just listen. It's as nourishing as the porridge.

@EmptyGateZenCenterBerkeley6 жыл бұрын
The chanting meditation is no different from sitting meditation. It means to perceive our true self and help this world. Just the technique is different.

a very smart person. I chant the Lotus Sutra Hokkeko with Taisekiji. If people were more accepting of priest applications from outside Japan you'd be right in there. the laity is actually less accepting, they still mostly adhere to superficial appearance such as race, in order to feel 'authentic'. (yikes!).

Why do men invent vain ways of reaching God when God came down and clearly showed the way? Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you will receive the Holy Ghost!
@EmptyGateZenCenterBerkeley9 жыл бұрын
+Tiny777 There are many different fingers pointing to the moon. If you attach to the finger you are already in hell. Understanding cannot help you. It's like understanding what a banana is but you haven't tasted it. So, WHO is Jesus Christ? If you open your mouth, you are in hell. If you close your mouth you are living in sin. What can you do?
@chase1014108 жыл бұрын
i don't understand how this is "vain". i would like to understand, tho. peace and love.

Buddhism isn't trying to reach god. It isn't about god.
