I hate 2pc, the flanges are so uncomfortable!! But. I don’t know how she handles the non drainable. Drainable pouches are SO convenient, if you have any gas you can burp them, and to me the “change” is the worst part, so I wouldn’t want to constantly have to change it out. I have insurance and my ostomy nurse said almost 100% of patients think they will like the non drainable, but almost 0 end up sticking with them because of different reasons.

She has the timing, materials and determination to do this! Not a problem. I just had major colon surgery, but did not need this procedure. My ascending colon was kinked or floppy and a colonoscopy camera could not pass to appendix area. I had a positive cologuard of over a year ago, and really thought it was a false positive. Hint: cologuard is screening only for Pre CA, CA, and blood also will come up positive. I had a virtual CT colonoscopy which was abnormal for a 3cm growth in the cecum or beginning of the large colon. So, I am 8 days post op, had the cecum removed, they could not straighted the ascending colon, even with laparotomy tools and a 5 " abdominal wall incision. So, they made decision to do resection with the cecum and removed the appendix. Outcome: No growth found, no Pre ca, or CA. Just straightened out the ascending colon. So, I will be able to do next Colonoscopy. Not for 4-5 years if at all. It had to be done, glad it is over and no colostomy bag!

I thank you for sharing your videos! As 5 years ago I was having very bad stomach pain one nite and started sweating 😓 really bad so jumped in the shower got out put on clean dry jammies since it was 10pm and 20 minutes later soaked again but now I’m passing out with the chill but I did put on clean dry Jammie’s again, so my husband called for an ambulance, 3 days later I woke up from a sepsis coma with a colostomy bag cause my large intestine ruptured I lost 7 inches of it and my husband was told if I went to sleep or he waited just 90 minutes later to call for an ambulance I would have died.. and I was in an ICU for 28 days from being sepsis and was told i shouldn’t be alive! But it took me almost 2 yrs to feel like every one knew I was wearing a colostomy bag.. so I thank you for making me feel like I’m not alone ❤❤❤ God Bless

Tell your son to just think positive and accept, in 1997 when I awoke after major surgery I had a colon bag attached sure no one wants one but the alternative was Death so I told myself to think positive and be grateful that I was alive , I wish your son all the best for his future as there are many people who wear them and also have a life .

I'm a bit like your mom. I have had a drainable system now for 17 years and unfortunately I've experienced some leaks at various times when I have been out and when on flights. I am very nervous going out just in case. I have a family event coming up in the near future which I will go to but I'll always be on the alert. I also have drains coming from my kidneys so 3 appliances to deal with. I was.a.very outgoing person before this and still love being with people but I cancer fully relax.

This young ladies' video really hits home and heart to me. My mom had to wear one, but she was quite a bit older than this gal. Cancer has no age limit as we all know. I've had breast cancer myself. I used to help my dear sweet mom to change hers sometimes, and I thought nothing of it because I became a pro at it, just like this young lady. Thank you so much honey for posting this, and showing so many people that live with the same thing just how livable it can be. Look at her! She's going to the beach and had no problem changing her bag in no time! God bless you sweetheart, and I hope and pray that you have a long, happy, and healthy life!❤😊💩😹😹😹💯👍
