Collisions between particles inside the Large Hadron Collider atom smasher have created what looks like a new form of matter. The new kind of matter is called color-glass condensate, and is a liquidlike wave of gluons, which are elementary particles related to the strong force that sticks quarks together inside protons and neutrons (hence they are like "glue").

YES! Check out the label raster-Noton for more of this stuff! I think they might just be under Raster now but their catalog is out there. CoH, Komet, Byetone and many others are really astonishing artists who exhibit similar techniques and sounds.

+Alex Trott If I recall, this was made mostly (if not enitrely) through analog means. You probably could create something like this with software though.

I listened to Lorn, because I thought it would sound closely the same. It did not. I recommend Senking, Alva Noto, Pan Sonic and Ryoji Ikeda for somewhat similar music.

Samuel Sundin Waldenström thanks for the reco Ill def check those out and sorry if u got that impression but imo both Belief Defect and Lorn have a unique sound (with Lorn truly in a realm of his own which is why I love him so much) Hes fully tapped in. It was more of a "vibe" or "mood" I was pointing to. Kangding Ray is another I quite enjoy for similar reasons. 🖤

That what you showed is no Disstortion, its called "Interference". Every Tone & Waveform produces specified spectrums which can interfering. Thats quite normal, because Phonons are Quantumparticles which running as fast as sonic.

what do people actually use to create sounds like this?
@howdoifixmyspacebar7 жыл бұрын
AFAIK most of Emptyset's work consists of basic, mostly unmodulated patterns recorded from analog equipment which then gets digitally edited. Emptyset are really into exploring the physicality of low-freq/high-dB sound so a lot of the "effects" you hear are actually acoustic stuff like physical interference and harmonic resonance from the recording environment or signal decay from the synths/speakers/mics operating beyond normal thresholds. Though you can do this sort of stuff with any digital or analog instrument; you just need something capable of producing sub-bass/infrasound and some really huge speakers. Check out their other releases "Medium", "Material", and "Signal". The first two are the recordings of essentially blasting extreme freqs through different buildings with very different results, and "Signal" is a recording of an experiment where they transmitted patterns over a long range VHF radio circuit (Berlin to Indre, France) to hear how ionospheric conditions changed the signal. .
