There are plenty of other drumming audio software like Superior Drummer 3 that let you tune your drum sounds further. It's possible to connect Paradiddle to all of those apps by using MIDI. Hey, did you recently email us about this issue? Just making sure it's the same person! A couple of things to check: - Make sure the Paradiddle window has input focus. Simply clicking on the window to make sure it's the active one should be enough. - It's possible the space bar bindings got changed somehow. You can clear all of the settings by deleting the save game folder. The path should be something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Paradiddle\Paradiddle\Saved\SaveGames\. Exit the app, delete the files in that folder and then launch the app again. Let us know if either of these help! If not you can join our Discord (discord.gg/paradiddle) so we can assist you further.

Hi, I managed to find out what the issue was. What was wrong was that I opened my Oculus Rift and went on to the Oculus application. From there I went through the Oculus VR home room and opened Steam on the virtual desktop. Due to this it didn't allow me to use the keyboard features like the left control and space bar. In order to solve this, I plugged in my Oculus after opening steam VR app. This made the game run off of steam using the headset and allowed me to use all the normal functions like the USB keyboard and much more. In short, I used the steam VR App instead of the Oculus Rift app to run the game and this allow the keyboard to work. Thank you! I love the game!!!!

Paradiddle has support for mixed reality recording through LIV (liv.tv), which you can use to record a video similar to mine. LIV also lets you record the app using an avatar instead of your camera footage, if that's something prefer. If you just want a third person perspective, without any real life footage or an avatar, you can also use the built-in camera tools in the app: if you press the Camera button in the menu, you can enable a third person camera and place it anywhere you want in the scene, and control settings like smoothing and field of view for both the third person, and the first person camera. Keep in mind that this is PC only, and won't work on Quest! I believe the LIV team is working on mixed reality support for Quest though, so hopefully that's not too far.

I just got paradiddle on my quest 2 and it didn’t have whiplash as an option. How do I play whiplash on it?

This is a drum cover that was played while using Paradiddle as a simulator - it wasn't played on the rhythm game mode or using any sort of assistance. I just had the song open on Spotify in the background and played over it on my VR kit.

Could you also make this for PSVR maybe? :-) You could use some kind of USB pedals, or even better - 2 more move controllers for the feet. :-) They are super fast & responsive! :-) I don't know why there is no drumming game for PSVR yet...

I'm looking into porting Paradiddle to PSVR right now, trying to get a dev kit soon so I can get started with the process. I've heard that the process can be a little involved, so I'm not sure how long it'll take me yet. Using additional controllers for foot tracking is a great idea - that might even be an okay solution for Oculus Rift users who don't have access to vive trackers, who want a similar way to track their feet. Thanks for the suggestion, I've seen lots of comments on my videos recently asking for PSVR support!

Again: WOW, I'm really excited about the PSVR version!! :D :D Yes, SONY is like Apple, the developing and approval process is more strict... but not impossible at all. ;-) If you could make the PSVR version, I would be the happiest person alive!! :-D Also I would pay a LOT to get a virtual drum on PSVR. :-)))))) I think this year will be great for VR-addict drummers!! :-)

Any luck with the PSVR devkit maybe? :-) Will you make more of these mixed reality videos in the meantime? :-)
@EmreTanirgan5 жыл бұрын
@@BenkeSmith I can't give you a clear timeline as of now but things are progressing on the PSVR front, I'm currently in communication with Sony about getting set up as a partner and that's moving along. I'd love to make more mixed reality videos, but I also have to focus on development so I typically only make them when I have a big new feature to announce or a lot of updates since the last video. I'm trying to add different types of percussion instruments to Paradiddle over the next few months, so I'm thinking of recording a new video to showcase that. I'm always looking for VR streamers/KZbinrs who'd like to record MR content with Paradiddle, so let me know if there's anyone you think I should reach out to! Thanks for your support and enthusiasm :)

+How does it pick up the bass drum?

There are multiple ways of using the kick in Paradiddle. The default is the right trigger, but it can be remapped to any button on the motion controllers. There are other ways as well such as USB pedals, MIDI pedals, Rock Band pedals etc., all of which you can see here: paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide In this cover specifically, I'm using electronic hi-hat and kick drum pedals from my e-drum kit through the MIDI integration of the app. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Is there anything close to this on PS4 VR. I love playing the drums. But in my house the MRS has no drum policy. Anyone advise

Hi again :-) Any news on the PSVR / Oculus Quest versions? :-) I now have both!!!!! :-) :-)
@EmreTanirgan5 жыл бұрын
Hey! Good news on the Quest front - I got an early build of running on the Quest last week. I'm planning to share an apk soon with people so they can test it and give their feedback, but I still need to do a bit more work to get some of the broken features working. Also, it probably won't have all the same features as the PC version right away, so it might take me a little bit of time to add some of that in (such as MIDI support). The PSVR port is still in early stages, though this week I heard from someone who was able to get Paradiddle running on their PSVR using iVRy (store.steampowered.com/app/992490/iVRy_Driver_for_SteamVR/). They said it runs well on the 90hz mode but they ran into a couple of issues on the 120hz mode. It might be worth a try if you're interested in seeing how well it works through SteamVR :)

would this work with oculus link on the quest?

Can you play doubles with the virtual drum sticks? Like a real drum would have rebound after it strikes the drum. It will bounce off of the drum.
@leopardenschnecke98972 жыл бұрын
would be difficult as you do not have a drum stick in your fingers. With a bit of practice it could be possible as there are techniques for doubles without the need for rebound
@TheDarkNeax2 жыл бұрын
I can confirm you can hit doubles, what is harder to do is buzz rolls though.

What's the cheapest alternative to electronic drum pedals?
@EmreTanirgan5 жыл бұрын
Great question! I actually just created the Paradiddle Pedal Guide to help answer any pedal related questions, including price comparisons across different choices. I'd recommend going with either a USB Pedal or a Rock Band pedal, you can check more info about them on the pedal guide: paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide/. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question, and I'm happy to provide more info!

@@EmreTanirgan Thanks for the answer man. I just bought the app and I'll be trying it out with a spare keyboard I have lying around for the time being. Keep up the good work ;-)
