If you're not experienced at changing springs I would hire someone to take care of it. Those spring are very dangerous.

If it's 1 1/2 inches shorter than before and you mentioned 2 sets of bends why did you only add 3/4 to first mark. Shouldnt you of added 3/4 to the 3rd bend ? Or ...

Do you have a broken spring? Have you tried releasing it from the opener? If it's a broken spring, they are very dangerous to work on yourself unless you have a lot of experience with them.

Only if you’re concerned with where the end of the pipe will land. Each offset made, will create shrinkage.

Shrinkage and multipliers vary with the different diameters of EMT.

in San Diego it is so hot i believe that is why the door spring is broken also the spring has a gap in it or the door is under too much tension pls help Edit: that was in summer
