@@synthfellow - It is a somewhat rare topic. I can't think of a good reason to make much use of the Proteus today, but with that extra set of sounds I think that I made good use of the device in the 1990s. I learned a lot using it as a writing tool.

The Proteus/1 is still a great rack synth for the money. Mmm those lovely 80s sounds can still make great music. I'm glad I still have mine

I like the sound of the Proteus/1 over all and this expansion board just extends the experience :). Its a rompler yes but there is many ways to make your personal soundsets if you set your mind to it. Thank you for watching and the kind words!

It's a wonderful synth to have in the rack. Not worth selling for the amount it will sell for compared to all the great sounds you could use in songs :)

I still don't understand what it is, by chance are roms chips? If so, where can I download the .bin files to burn on an eprom recorder?

No it’s a mounted pcb. But perhaps someone else can tell if it’s possible to tell if you can burn an eprom of this? It’s beyond my knowledge.

I have the same upgrade my demos don’t play anymore? Do your demos play? I’m thinking maybe they got erased or either it doesn’t work with the upgrade?

Yes my demos play. At least as I can remember.

Could the expansion card have new sample data too, or could it "only" use the built-in waveforms?

It added 70 new ”Tones” :)

In other words, yes it did add new samples. Of course, you could combine them with the factory samples too. At the time, I found them useful.
