thank you for the immensely useful guide. just wanted to add a couple of things: 7:32 - if you want to play yuzu in desktop mode and prefer a/b/x/y xbox controls, hover and press r2 over A, hold steam button for a sec to switch to gamepad mode, choose button, switch back, repeat for other buttons 11:59 - for this, you can just type in "yuzu" instead of scrolling. i get the shakes nowadays, so it's much easier for me to not use the trackpads thank you!

Not working for me. I have Yuzu working as an application on its own but cannot add as an emulator to Emudeck. App image is named correctly and is in the correct folder. Emudeck does not see the file. I have tried to set it up in Steam Rom Manager as shown in the video but Yuzu is still red and cannot be parsed.

I had this same issue and I might have a fix for you. When I downloaded the appimage file and changed the name, it was "yuzu.appimage" in all lowercase letters, but dolphin files on Steam Deck is case sensitive, so change the filename to "yuzu.AppImage" with the correct capitalizations. Hope this helps!

You can do it as stand alone but you would need to download steam rom manager manually as well to create the steam shortcuts.

@@gnommy I think you need to double check the parser settings in steam rom manager. It's probably creating steam shortcuts with your roms and mapping them to the ryujinx emulator so those shortcuts launch the roms with ryujinx which is correct. You need to make sure the parser settings for your switch roms are directed to the yuzu emulator instead.

Without this, it didn’t detect the emulator at all even when launched in desktop mode. Not everyone wants their Steam Deck cluttered with game icons. Emudeck alone is enough.

So everything works except for laumching from Steam OS. I tried in both Big Screen Mode and Desktop mode and I get an error when launching games "The ROM format is not supported" but the games launch in Desktop mode in Yuzu just fine... I thought it was a directory issue but I moved the ROMs (without the updates) to just the Switch folder under Emulation and same result.

Hi. Thanks for this very helpfull video! I have a problem to play with multiply controllers: everything works fine in configure menu in Yuzu app (I can see two controllers moves), but when I enter the game, only one controller works. I tried steam gamepad 0, 1, 2, any... nothing works ! Do you know how to fix it?

Did you setup input in desktop mode or gaming mode?

@@GrownUpGamingGUG I got it! The key is to disable Steam input before lauching the game (once you have connect your controllers). If you don’t, Steam input option will erase your yuzu/riyjinx setting. It works fine now 🥹

I don't understand. Im new to PC and just got the SteamDeck. I have no idea about getting appiamges, and roms, etc. Finding Yuzu and Ryujinx and dont even know what im downloading exactly.

Appimage is like an exe file for Linux. You need to find the yuzu emulator appimage from the internet. Roms you shouldn't download from the internet as that is piracy 😅

So all my games run fine in desktop mode but give me different errors for each game when I try to run them from Big Screen mode. Not sure what settings I need to change. Playing on desktop is fine but Steam is preferred. Also the steam button doesn't work when games are loaded in full screen. 😅

@@treylightner9965 keys for the switch which should be dumped from your modded switch. you're not supposed to download someone elses keys from the internet.

oh nvm i accidentally selected the emudeck appimage at 13:23 instead of yuzu

i installed the keys for ** but it was asking me for a firmware, so i installed it too. It recognizes the games on the rom folder and i can see them on the **u app but it still won't show "ni**e**o bios detected" on emu deck. Whenever i try to launch the n***nd* s** game from the "es de" launcher, it launches it thru ry**x instead of ***u. I can launch the nintendo games directly from the ***u app, but not from emudeck's "es de" launcher. how can i open the games directly from ***u on emudeck? I re-parsed them both ry***x and ***y and now it launches them randomly either from r*** or y***. I don't know how to fix it

@@GrownUpGamingGUG ohh no. I'm talking about emudeck on my SteamDeck. I followed step by step but when I launch the "ES DE" on steam and select the n**ndo s**tch and launch the game it launches it from ry*** instead of y**u. All other games and consoles work fine within the emudeck.

@@mcrprinc yes I don't use es-de. I just created game shortcuts with steam rom manager and run them directly on steam.

UGH! I'm so close . . . I got EMUDECK to recognize YUZU, but I can't get it to update. I'm stuck on version 12.1.0 and can't get it to update to the version you have on the video. I've tried using the folder selection method as well as the manual copy to the NAND location but the version won't change. Any suggestions?

Don't let Nintendo get to you man, emulation is essential for games preservation and not illegal as long as you buy and dump the physical games. Someone has to step up to them, they cannot behave as a dictatorship and get away with it every single time.

Case sensitive? I'm not sure your steps so you probably need to give me details step by step or follow the video again.
