[EN] Audi 7-Speed, Direct-Shift Transmission Oil & Filter Replacement

Direct-shift transmissions are engineered to provide seamless gear changes, in order to make driving easier. By making the decision of when to change gear, the driver can be left to concentrate on the road ahead; traffic, road conditions, etc.
The sophisticated seven-speed, direct-shift transmission featured in this video requires regular oil and filter changes. This is in order to keep the smooth, ‘wet’, double-clutch system, and its computer-controlled mechatronics unit, operating within very fine engineering tolerances. The result is optimised gearshift quality and ‘feel’.
febi transmission service kit 171783 contains all the necessary parts, including high-quality lubricant, primary and secondary filters, an oil pan gasket and a new drain plug and seal.
In this video, we replace the transmission oil service kit on an Audi A5 equipped with a DL501, seven-speed direct-shift transmission (which is also used in many other models).

How much gearbox oil capacity for A6 C7 3.0 TDi 245 hp with s tronic 7 speed? Thank You. Note: I’ve just done service on my car using your febi oil just like it’s showed in the video, and the worker said he filled approximately 6 liters. I wonder, is that enough?

I'm confused, I have Audi A5 7.11.2016 2.0 Tfsi S tronic Quattro keynr: 0588-BIW00018 and my S tronic Gearbox have no filter , I just ordered complete kit together with sump and everything that need to be replaced but have no filter . Is European model. I also replaced Haldex oil and didn't see any filter. Gearbox code is 0G7

Is this the same gearbox that’s in a 2015 Audi Q5 2.0 TDI S Line Plus? I have 7- speed S -tronic gearbox but don’t know what kit I need as I’m aware certain gearboxes don’t have filters etc

Hi. I just took my A5 to an Audi dealer for an s tronic transmission service and they changed the oil only. They said that there is a filter but it is not necessary to change it in the model gearbox on my car. I am confused by this but if Audi themselves say it’s not necessary then what do I do? They always recommended other things that are not actually needed so why would they under sell on a gearbox filter if it was actually needed ?

I’d take it to a reputable VWAG Specialist and ask what they do as part of their S tronic service. I have a Golf R and Audi Q5, with my Golf VW main dealer states when doing a Haldex service (4 wheel drive pump) they just refill the oil and say the gauge inside the pump isn’t a serviceable item. Now if I had gone by that my Haldex pump would fail over time as the gauge needs cleaning so it can filter the oil sufficiently. That’s where the specialists come in and do far more for our cars so they have a returning customer whereas the main dealers have one thing in mind which is get as much money from us for as little work.

Yes never get this s/tronic transmission service done at audi,they only change the exterior filter and they dont take the oil pan off or change the inner filter take your car to a VWAG specialist they will take off your oil pan and change the exterior and interior filter
