Judge Boyd always says, " my mind is a steel trap" and she just proved it. She remembered this mother, the interaction she had with her.. even that the defendant had a different hair color. I love the way she has zero hesitancy in telling bad parents they are bad parents. Defendant isn't going to live with and be cuddled by mommy anymore. Boom!
No way my mom would get in front of a Judge and defend my bad behavior. The reason I don't do bad things is because my mom do not play. I'm 35 and I still respect my mom and her authority.

The BIGGEST problem in this young (very young 19) man is his mom. Your parents cannot be your "best friend", period. If your mom is your best friend, she will act like a friend. She is an enabler. I think Judge Boyd is a mind reader. She knows how some of these families are before they testify. Judge Boyd is an excellent, very fair judge. She makes sure that the defendants are put on the best path to straighten out their lives and not just punish them.

He will probably complete his ISF which is 45 to 90 days. Then he will still be on probation when he gets out. If he screws that up one time he goes down for 7 years. And I guarantee you this crash test dummy kid will violate his probation on a drug charge. He won't get back into ISF that's over. I've been in prison in Texas. He'll be in the State Penitentiary within the next 18 months doing the 7 years because they already pled open to the judge and she said 7 years.
