If a defendant simply follows her rules for probation they will be : employed, off drugs, a better parent, and a little more humbled due to required community service...at the LEAST! In some cases they also will have completed a trade school or got their diploma, worked with DHS/CPS to close their case successfully, gotten housing, counseling for anger management, etc... She is really trying to re-parent them and set them on the course that their parents should have. By far the most thorough judge. Love Judge Boyd. Texas don't play. 😂

Its almost too much honestly. I was able to do it under similar parameters on probation for drug charges in CA but just barely! Addiction doesn't just stop because you got arrested and some people are unemployable without a GED and then the ones with kids and no contact orders... I wonder what the completion rate is for getting off probation in the allotted time frame in her court! Not to make ANY excuses for criminals, but if they were capable of doing all that, at the time of sentencing, wouldn't they be? ...or maybe I just needed rehab and therapy first 😂

Listen to you giving advice to ppl on drugs. You are spouting mad logic BUT ppl on drugs (ESP meth) DO NOT MAKE GOOD DECISIONS bc they are on drugs. Ppl are prone to self medicate mental emotional issues with drugs like meth and weed. When they do, they have a strong history of not making good decisions for themselves and the ppl (especially their kids) around them. If they could be capable of making long term plans, even going so far to maintain the ability to self destruct by remaining essentially a "functioning addict," they prob wouldnt be in the position to begin with? So Sad.....

“Out of Wedlock” has nothing to do with anything. My son is law’s parents were married, he had such a dysfunctional childhood that at the age of 14 he took himself to our DHS (the Australian equivalent of CPS). They were not even feeding him but his mother had bought herself a BMW while claiming they were poor). My child grew up with his parents not married, had love, affection, birthday parties, sleepovers, holidays, all the things my son in law never got. No trouble with the law with my child, but there was with my son in law. Dysfunctional families exist whether married or not!!!
