This is just another symptom of the terrible decline in our country, because of ANC incompetence and corruption. All this suffering was completely avoidable. Illegal immigration, crime, illegal squatting, exploitation of the poor, and general disorder is all the fault of the ANC.

@@adigunlamar Isn't it the same foreigners who hijack these buildings and rent them out. Obviously South Africans would be there because hey after all we are now second class citizens in our own country. I will blame foreigners and I will continue to do so. How about they leave South Africa and let's deal with our own culprits and you will see then how in order this country would of cause the current government would have to be out as well. It is not nonsense if all those leaders who tried to deal with this problem before were not attacked or called xenophobic and dealt with such matters. Do you really think they would be buildings catching fire right now with shacks inside of them really? Stop trying to defend nonsense.

Good question! Why don't the wealthier citizens of South Africans invest in social housing and buy the buildings so that less privileged people from whatever community have something decent to call home? I can tell you why. It's the mentality. But you know what, social landlords actually do pretty well. Also people forget that in the UK 2017 72 people died and 70 were injured according to Wiki in the Grenfell fire in London. So this building fire isn't the worst. This is all down to neglect.

I keep repeating the same - before 1994 South Africa was a thriving first world country but since the takeover of the ANC South Africa has become a destroyed country thanks to the ANC who do nothing but steal all monies which are supposed to be used to keep up the same standard that they found SA in! But we all knew that once these idiots took over SA would become ungovernable and destroyed!

And it is bad take you forget this is a society the more indifference is encouraged the more people like that weirdo who posted the original comment will spread this toxic mindset. By nature what happened todoay highlights an even more controversial subject and greater issue but what happened still elicits its own emotional impact on people so a comment does affect the people who are still captivated by what happened. Saying that it's a measure of nothing is extremely ignorant idk where you got those ideas of yours from.💀
