@@BEEDRILL303 it would just be frozen copy and paste again with potato people instead of olaf and the little snowmans and we already have TWELVE main characters to focus on and it would be way too much to add another... around twelve potato people into the movie. Then we would focus on 24 characters, it's a headache to animate that and would detract from the main story, then everyone would complain about how the characters didn't get enough screentime (you remember people complaining about the frog etc). If it were to ever exist it should strictly be a separate short or a fanmade stuff. Also Isabela would be strictly too OP with 0 drawbacks, her power is already too much with her having perfect control over it like a mary sue, this movie already has a lot of loose ends and giving isabela the ability to grant life and humanlike features to non human beings then they gotta think about the implications of THAT. No go. Sorry for the long rant it's just how I think the movie would go if Isa can create sentient little veggie beings, I dont mean to attack you- Edit: typos

I am glad they cut Bubbo from the story. That would cut the development from Isabella and would have been not such a good idea to have a Latin teen character running away with the first ugly guy who tells her what she wants to hear and promises the moon and stars. The running gag from the Latin fandom would be Isabella returning back to her family house with two "bendiciones" [kids] and no Bubbo on sight.

Yes, I think what they chose to do with Isabella is much better. People have this false belief that they will be happy once they find a guy that will love them. When people asked me what advice I would give them in finding a spouse because I got married young, I told them you will only be as a happy married as you are happy single. I honestly think that if you are comfortable with who you are and happy, then the right kind of love can find you, but if you are more focused on solving your internal issues with romance then you will end up still not happy.

imagine reducing such wonderful gift to only producing picture perfect flowers when she could grow the whole village's crops/vegetation/plantation and maybe even provide livelihood. Not just potatoes but spices, fruits, or her very own secret garden/enchanted forest/paradise. She could even be her very own Dora and explore/grow plant species if she wants to. She has so much potential and room for growth and I think the final movie's plot fits very well to her gift.

Yes. She would have been actually useful for the Encanto, like Luisa, and would have deserved all the praise that was put upon her. Instead, the pressure to be perfect her grandma put upon her stunted her gift and made her practically useless while being elevated to being the Golden Girl---while Luisa got ignored and only treated as a beast of burden.

There are a few similarities with Encanto and Haunted Mansion. Such as the mind (space) bending, twisting corridors, rippling floors, sentient wallpaper, disappearing doors and windows, Alma & Gracey's depressing backstories, Bruno and Leota's secret rooms hidden behind a painting, both featuring exotic plants, the sand Mirabel falls into, etc. Even if Mirabel did get a gift, I read a fanfiction online were she was indeed given the ability to transform into a mermaid, yes, you heard that right, and also was given the power to control water. Similar to the Mariner's ghost and his usage of water to scare Ben Mathias into returning to Gracey Manor. Even similarities with Alma's nightmarish vision which was scrapped, featuring ghostly men on horseback, which could've been a reference to Haunted Mansion's skeletal ghostly wraiths, and the Forbidden Forest which was also scrapped would've been an obvious reference to the haunted trees in the Mansion's graveyard. Isabela's scrapped secret garden would've been a reference to the Museum of the Weird's man eating plant. Bruce and Kent's fight being a reference to the scrapped fight with Isabela and Mirabel. Isabela Madrigal could also be similar to Constance Hatchaway.

Am I the only one who is relieved they cut the potato people? They have no connection to any of the themes or plot elements that make Encanto great, so they would have taken time away from that. Also, I'm so tired "humorous" side characters that are just there to be "cute" or "funny." To me they are annoying.

Id love it if she actually still did like cosplaying/reenacting scenes from books!! maybe in some other encanto media (a 2nd movie, series, book, etc it doesnt matter) she could act out things with bruno :)!! one of my favorite things to do with fictional families is to see how each person interacts with another! Isa didnt really get to establish a relationship with bruno, but acting could be a shared interest of theirs!! id actually love to see how that!! bubo almost feels like a beta version of bruno, but im not really a fan of the hidden romance trope so im glad they didnt do that. instead, we can have some cool scenes with bruno and his niece!! that would be AMAZING!! it already reminds me of my uncles,, lol

It would've been nice to see [if they gave her a love interest] Isabela with a secret girlfriend instead. It would've helped give her even more reason to have been "Marrying Mariano for the Family" and showing what she was giving up to be "perfect" - especially since a lot of people already believe she was "Lesbian Coded". Plus it might've helped fill that "Elsa should have a girlfriend!" Gap people were hoping for. But that being said, while some little things like the secret garden [not necessarily with a boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever] and even her loving books would've been a nice touch. Especially to off set the "Too much like Belle" thing to show her publicly being interested in all the things she was "Suppose to" be but then having hidden places to read - to give that first small glimpse into how she was trying so hard to be what Grandma wanted but wasn't. That first hint for Mirabel so later the fight would've been like a smack in the face for Mirabel to realize exactly HOW MUCH of Isabella has to be hidden away and given up to be "perfect". Though ... I would've happily settled for the Potato People. If they ever make a follow up or a TV series, they could be a great addition since she even says in "We Don't Talk about Bruno" that her powers would grow - and she found out she could do more than "pretty flowers" so after doing more traditional "Desert" foliage, going into maybe exploring what all she can grow her powers get stronger and let her make the potato people.
