Actually the thing that I love about this series is, its giving other characters chance to shine alongside with Harry. more than the main storyline did. Like Draco's character is way better here. And this storyline made Ron the true icon for Gryffindor with the sword and stuff. Also the friendship between Ron and Harry reflects the friendship between Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin. Because Harry has control over the basilisk, Salazar's signature object. While Ron has the Sword of Gryffindor, Godric's Signature object.

Honestly, they're pushing the line even with this, unless they demonetized it or got JRK's permission, which I doubt. I'm 99% sure JKR has gone on the record saying she's OK with fanfiction, but only if it's not used for profit. If she hadn't said that on the record she could sue them whether they did it for profit or not. I really doubt she'll sue them for this, as it probably would cause her a bunch of negative publicity without much benefit, but if they published amd sold an actual book series without getting permission, that would be another story. And yes, they labeled this as a theory, but it's definitely straight up fanfiction.

If anything, I feel like Ron and Hermione would end up together earlier in this version since it’s just them hanging out together in the Gryffindor common room for years. They would spend so much more time together and get to know each other much better and much faster. I also don’t think Harry being in Slytherin would affect his feelings for Ginny or vice versa since a lot of their time together is in the summer where nothing has changed. This series is brilliant! I’ve loved every episode!

I agree with your theory about Ron and Hermione, but since Ginny's crush on Harry was really just a fangirl thing until he saved her from the Chamber, which didn't happen in this series, I can't see the crush continuing past 2nd year. Great job on this one. Things that I would change though: I’d have Draco take the Love potion. I think having Harry rescue him from that the way he rescues Ron from it in the original would solidify their friendship. I would have Draco confide in Harry what Voldemort asked him, prompted to do so by taking Felix. Harry is a good guy, he would offer Draco help. Dumbledore would put Draco and his mom somewhere safe. Dumbledore is much weaker in this version, I would have him die in the cave from the curses, not by Snape. I don’t think Hermione would kiss him at the end in that very anticlimactic way. Think of how awesome Harry’s first kiss with Ginny was! No, I think Harry would kiss her in the next book, after something awesome happens or during some romantic moment (after they escape on the dragon? At her side as she is recovering from bellatrix’s torture?) Snape wouldn’t cast the fire, it’s too dangerous. Maybe another death Eater would. Also I’m kind of wondering why Harry doesn’t have any slytherin friends yet? And would Harry have really gotten Snape’s old textbook? I think Harry probably would have received an outstanding on his 0WL to begin with, now that Snape wasn’t sabotaging his learning, so he would be prepared with his own book. Things I love: the Luna quidditch commentary cracking Ron up. The way Harry asks Hermione to the slug club ball was adorable. Ron getting the hat and being a true Gryffindor with the sword was awesome. I love that Ron is more confident in this version because he’s not constantly being in Harry’s shadow.

More believable? I can't believe Malfoy had to spend a schoolyear on fixing a Vanishing Cabinet that hasn't been broken during CoS. I also don't think the Cabinet would still be left unattended at Hogwarts. The Slytherin student went straight through this time so everyone knows there's an entry point to be secured. Also what's stopping Dumbledore from asking Harry to have the Basilisk help day 1 or to use Fiendfyre on a little island in a lake? I get that we have to ignore some butterflies otherwise the storyline completely veers off course but those two are big holes.

It's amazing what a non-factor Snape was until this point. It felt like in the books he was a constant obstacle and source of anger. This was always my fave book and movie because we saw a different side to Draco and saw that he was a broken and damaged kid underneath all the bravado and swagger so in this new version of the world and this new version of Draco I love that he basically has the redemption arc he needed in the OG series. Ok, so hear me out. Hermione and Ron would be even more of a thing because they are spending all this alone time together in Gryffindor. Ron has always had feelings for Hermione, and Ginny was absolutely crazy about Harry. I can totally see young Ginny wanting to be in Slytherin for Harry, but I'm not sure if the sorting hat would let her go or not, because it considered Harry not wanting to be in the house of his parent's murder, but Idk if it would let her go for a boy. So, I don't think anything would happen between Ginny and Harry during school as much, but probably in the 7th year, or after school they would get to know each other and fall. That's just my theory.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. I only have one major issue, and that's the seemingly arbitrary decision to have Harry and Hermione fall for each other. I dunno, maybe it's because my closest friends are always women and hate the "guys and girls can't be just friends" narrative, or maybe it's because I just ship Ron-Hermione so hard, but I KNEW it was coming and I still rolled my eyes so hard. I love de develop of Draco in this story and how Harry tries to help him. I also love the importance of Ron in Gryffindor, it just gives him more significant meaning as character, i love this parte, the only thing i really doesn’t like too much is the relationship of Harry and Hermione, and Ron not having a crush in Hermione, although I like the shipp between Ron and Luna, I just think they are so cute

I definitely like how in this story, since Harry 'disarmed' Snape with Sectumsepra that he becomes the master of The Elder Wand. I'm very much wondering if SCB will have Harry not be killed by Voldemort because of the 'Love-crux' or because he will have become the master of The Deathly Hallows. Also, the fact that Ron has the Sword of Gryffindor before Deathly Hallows means they may never think of going to Gringotts to get Hufflepuff's cup. I can't wait for next week's installment to see how everything will unfold.

I also wonder if Dumbledore's will has changed because the only reason that Ron came back to H&H is that Hermione said Ron's name, and that is what he truly wanted; however, it looks like Harry and Hermione are gonna end up together, so it might be Hermione leaving or something along those lines.

I don't think Snape would have lost a hand, or performed fiendfyre, due to the fact all his spells and defections were never to harm anyone. They were just so he could walk away and not get any students harmed, but still look like he is on the dark lords side.

This is just so Super Carlin Brothers can "reset" the circumstances to match the book. The sword of Gryffindor is infused with fiendfyre therefore can be used to destroy Horcruxes, and Harry defeats Snape which, according to SCB rules, makes him the true master of the Elder Wand.

I think your glossing over a major factor regarding Cedric's death. Lucius was adamantly trying to get the prophecy without violence. From the moment he showed up until the Order showed up, it was "Give me the prophecy and no one gets hurt". I assume there are many reasons to do so, such as keeping things simple and easy, or that a dead Hogwarts student suddenly being found in the Department of Mysteries being super suspicious. Also, the stakes were already high, so a random killing isn't really gonna raise them all that much, especially since it could have easily been a stunning spell or the Cruciatus Curse at best... It kinda just comes off as you guys running out of ideas for how to include him in the story...

I think Lucius just wanted to grab the prophecy and go. Normally, violence mucks things up a bit but a stealth killing curse was actually pretty effective. I agree that Harry would just immediately hand over the prophecy after the swift death of a friend. Although, I don't remember exactly how this is handled in the book. I want to say Harry was considering handing it over at one point, to avoid further violence/death? It's been a minute lol

@@insertclevernamehere1186 Perhaps the Unbreakable Vow is partially relevant, but I don’t think that it’s enough on its own to fully justify this course of events. In the books, there were three main factors to Dumbeldore’s plan to have Snape kill him. One of those, yes, was to erase any doubt in Voldemort’s mind of Snape’s loyalty. The other two factors were 1) to prevent Draco from potentially becoming a murderer and 2) the fact that Dumbledore was already dying from the curse in his hand. Both of these factors are negated by this alternate version of events. The Unbreakable Vow argument takes us into tricky territory, though. First of all, to my recollection, there is no discussion between Snape and Dumbledore in the books regarding the Unbreakable Vow. It’s entirely possible, of course, that it would have configured into Dumbledore’s plan in that version of events, but in this version, it raises a lot of questions with no clear answers: 1) What are Snape’s real motivations in this version? In either version, I think that Snape’s loyalty is still to Dumbledore and that his entire life is dedicated to, primarily, protecting the son of the woman he loved and, secondarily, to vanquishing the wizard who killed her. This begs the question though as to what, in Snape’s mind, would better serve those goals - to save himself or to save Dumbledore? Unless this version of events has somehow enhanced Snape’s innate selfishness (which seems to have been dampened in the canon version), I think that he would come to the logical conclusion that Dumbeldore, the most powerful wizard in the world and the one trusted by Harry and the Order of the Phoenix, would be the obvious choice. Perhaps Dumbledore might have ordered Snape to kill him and save himself regardless of what happened with Draco, but I’m not so certain this is an order Snape would be willing to follow without the aforementioned factors at play. 2) If we diminish the Unbreakable Vow as a factor and consider that Dumbledore is not dying, now has all the information he needs about the Horcruxes, and will be taking the family of a prominent (and imprisoned) Death Eater under his protection, would it really be such a high priority to maintain Snape as a double agent, rather than fully integrating him (and now, potentially, Draco) into the Order of the Phoenix? Maybe the argument could be made that Dumbledore still wants to trick Voldemort into believing that Snape becomes master of the Elder Wand upon killing him, but this seems like a stretch - he would, at this point, be risking quite a lot based on a mere assumption about what Voldemort will do. And besides, at this point, Dumbledore would have both the Elder Wand and its new master, Draco, under his wing. 3)What exactly are the mechanics of the Unbreakable Vow? How important is the wording of the vow made versus the intentions of the parties involved? Alas, J.K. Rowling was never particularly proficient at explaining the finer details of the magic system in the series, so we’ll never have a real answer on this. But, if we were to examine the Unbreakable Vow through the lens of a real-world contract, the wording of the Vow that Snape’s made is rather weak and pliable, which in real life would make it much easier to “get out” of such a contract. To illustrate what I mean: - “Will you, Severus, watch over my son, Draco, as he *attempts* to fulfill the Dark Lord’s wishes?” Draco in the books exemplifies why this wording is weak, as his attempts are half-hearted and poorly thought-out, yet they are nevertheless attempts. This doesn’t actually affect the terms of Snape’s Vow, but it illustrates how such wording allows for a lot of leeway. - “And will you, *to the best of your ability* , protect him from harm?” In a real-life court, this kind of wording would allow for someone to claim a lack of ability in order to circumvent the terms of their contract; after all, it would be difficult for a legal entity to prove the level of someone’s ability. What if Snape was sleeping, or using the bathroom, or simply too depressed to act as harm befell Draco? Now perhaps the magic behind the Unbreakable Vow would detect whether or not Snape was acting to the best of his ability, but there is no clear answer to whether that is the case. Again, there is wiggle room for Snape here. - “And, *should it prove necessary* … *if it seems Draco will fail* … Will you carry out the *the deed that the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform* ?” This section raises huge questions regarding both how the Unbreakable Vow works and how its terms are affected by this alternate sequence of events. First, the phrase “should it prove necessary” - with Draco having willingly surrendered and expressed clear intentions to accept help for himself and his family from Dumbledore and the Order, is it still “necessary” for Snape to carry out the deed? Related to this point, “if it seems Draco should fail” - does Draco’s conscious and willing decision qualify as failure? After all, Snape cannot control Draco’s decisions or his actions, and it seems silly to imagine that the Unbreakable Vow wouldn’t take this into account - especially given the previous phrase, “to the best of your ability”. Finally and perhaps most importantly, “will you carry out the deed the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform?” She doesn’t specify which deed. What if, while using Malfoy Manor as headquarters, Voldemort had given Draco literally any other order, whether it be torturing someone or simply closing the shutters? Would Snape be able to fulfill the terms of the Vow simply by performing one of these tasks? Or does the wording not matter given that Narcissa intends and Snape understands that she specifically means the killing of Dumbledore? It would make sense for a magical contract to weigh unspoken intentions in its terms, and yet, “Words are…our most inexhaustible source of magic.” Spoken incantations are absolutely essential to some spells, so it would also make sense that words matter when it comes to binding magical contracts. But even if it is understood without conceivable doubt that “carry out the deed” specifically means, “kill Dumbledore”, does this part of the Vow still hold up against Draco’s decisions and how those may or may not affect the terms of Snape’s agreement? Unfortunately, none of these questions are answerable because we simply know almost nothing about the mechanics of the Unbreakable Vow. SCB is a victim of Rowling’s lazy storytelling here, and in turn they’ve presented some lazy storytelling of their own. I’m not saying that to bash either one of them; I think any creator is prone to lazy or half-conceived output from time to time. Make no mistake, I’m loving this series just as I loved the Harry Potter books, but I nevertheless have issues with both. I also feel that raising criticisms and creating debates like these help to set the framework for further reimagining of the stories we love, which I personally think is a good thing. On that note, though, I’ll step off my soapbox, because I do not have the chops or the motivation to write the series, “What if Cedric and Dumbledore Both Survived the SuperCarlinBrothers Retelling of the Harry Potter Series?”

That's just a brief retelling of big plot points. You can easily see how to flesh out her feelings for Harry with 200 more pages. I'm not a shipper and don't really care, but they spend so much fqn time in the books together, that Hermione-Ron relationships feel odd. The fact that they have never shown any romantic inclination towards each other despite spending so much time together proves this on its own. In the books Harry even said that hanging out with Hermione without Ron was boring. And (I say this all the time) having the female lead end up with the chosen one main character is literally almost every story. It is honestly the most boring ship in the series. And I find it annoying that ppl are so intent on rolling back the one series that clearly showed that a boy and girl can be friends without wanting to get with each other. Just bc you spend time with someone from the gender you're attracted to doesn't mean you will automatically or even eventually be attracted to that specific person.

I love the series. I have however two questions: Firstly why would Ron not have a crush on Hermione in this scenario. Yes he had a crush on Cho in the series, but once he is over her what would make his feelings different. Secondly, what broom does McLaggen have and if it is not a firebolt, would the Wronski-bluff work. Harrys broom being faster he would have a big headstart giving McLaggen the time to react when he stops diving.

I feel like Dumbledore would notice the Horcrux effecting him. He is a genius, and would also probably be able to put some charms to keep it from affecting him if it wasn't being worn. Edit: Surprised nobody's given what I seriously considered the strongest argument: That he would just chalk it up to the curse and not the Horcrux being near him. But, Dumbledore is so dang smart, he basically knew everything up until Deathly Hallows, and even then he did still plan stuff out there. He is incredibly aware of things, and in my mind could discern the two.

I don’t know about that. To me, the horcrux effect symbolizes depression. It slowly creeps up on you and you don’t realize it’s effecting you untill it’s too late and you’re surrounded by it. The way it’s described when Harry takes off the locket really resonated with me and the feeling I had when I had a good day in such a long time looking back at your depressed self. No matter how smart you are, you really gotta be in touch with your emotions and feelings in order to sense this stuff in time to do something about it and I don’t know about you, but I don’t think dumbledore is very in touch with himself. He comes across as kinda repressed to me (regarding his sister death and his guilt which he has never gotten past. The man needs therapy)

The odd thing about Snape's hygiene is that everyone says his hair is greasy, but no one says he smells. He must be taking showers, but it would be weird for him to use soap and not shampoo. I suspect he's gotten into an unfortunate cycle of washing his hair aggressively every day in an attempt to stop the grease and wash away potion fumes. Sadly, this would only cause his hair to be more greasy. I don't imagine he would read books about hair or take anyone's advice, explaining why he hasn't gotten a handle on the problem.

I love this whole series. I love seeing what you’ve come up with, and I love seeing different avenues to different character arcs. It’s interesting taking a look into a different path for Draco, and since he’s my favorite character, it’s been wonderful to see what a more confident Ron would be. But I’m still missing a believable explanation of how/why a more confident (potentially more emotionally mature) Ron spending even more time alone with Hermione who, consequently, spends less time with Harry (since he’s in Slytherin) would just not have feelings for her and vice versa.

After this,you've got to do another two series for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff,how would the diary play out or would he get in the broom sport team without the class where Draco is mean. Would Flitwich make him better at charms or Sprout make him a broom out of her plants so he gets better at herbology for her? It might not sound like much but it could be very interesting

Instead of Harry being in ravenclaw and hufflepuff you could probably do one about what if Hermione was in Ravenclaw or What if Ron was in hufflepuff or even what if none of them were in Gryffindor

By putting Harry and Hermione together, you're making it seem like the whole point of doing this was just so that you could put Harry and Hermione together. Which is kind of lame. It turns the main plotline of the story into "How Harry and Hermione ended up together," instead of "How Harry defeated Voldemort." (Which maybe is one reason why Harry and Hermione COULDN'T end up together to begin with? Just a thought.)

This was great. Draco storyline was amazing, ron storyline was epic, loving harry and draco friendship, ron x luna my god I've never thought about that. But its really funny and cute. And harryx Hermione well they r perfect for each other. Also I'm missing hermione a lot in this story telling. I want more of her atleast in the next one🙌

I think it would have been cool if Snape still blocks Harry Spell and learned the truth about the Half Blood Prince, I mean finishing the book without him knowing it’s a bit weird.

Yeah what's with the Lost hand not a fan of that either and whether or not the spell did actually hit him, he still could have told Harry like when he was blocking spells before he said the snake loose or infuri after he lost his hand
