Enchanted Princess 5 Things We Enjoyed And Five Things We Didn't On Our Recent Caribbean Cruise.

I work as shore staff for Princess and just want to let you know that you can always ask us to help find your luggage. We understand how overwhelming luggage hall can be and how anxious everyone is to start their journey home. That’s what we’re there for. There are at least 25 porters responsible for arranging over 6000 pieces of luggage in the color groups and numbers to expidite your travel. If they were to group luggage according to cabins you would be waiting in your meeting places on the ship all day. All of us on shore staff want to make this last part of your time with Princess as stress free as possible. Please ask us if you need help. ❤

I loved the Enchanted when I took it out of New York to the New England states. Last month I did the 360 dining experience on the Discovery and it was a very good presentation.

You missed one negative. Sabatini’s Trattoria Is located in the middle of the Piazza on the 7th floor. When it opens it blocks off that entire side of the Piazza creating traffic jams on the other side. The biggest problem is that there is no sound barrier to dampen the sound of the loud rock and roll music being played on the 5th floor. The acoustics are actually so “good” it sounds like the band is right next to you. Conversation during dinner was impossible and we had trouble communicating with our waiter. Service was also horrible. Dinner took almost 2 hours, most of which was spent waiting to order and waiting for food. It wasn't even crowded. This was a specialty dining venue which we paid a hefty upcharge for. I would never eat here again unless they built some kind of sound barrier.

We have been on enchanted in 2021 (3rd voyage) and 2022. All you said is correct. We thought the service was better on enchanted than on sky princess. For the luggage we did the service where they take your luggage to the airport. Well worth it. No searching for your luggage!! We did it 3 times and never had an issue.

Our cruise is in just over a month! The bit about the bill at the end is going to be super helpful because we also booked and paid for everything way upfront so that’s a good think to look out for come the end of the trip The bag part…even more of a reason I think we will do carry on/off only. We have a later flight booked to leave but still don’t need pre stress going into the airport.

Jeff, agree with the comment about confusing statement. I believe that Luggage; as soon as it leaves the ship, ground personnel sorts. As I stated before, we enjoyed 50 plus cruises before Covid, now we are experiencing an new adventure on Princess, traveling with Alzheimer’s. Last week we completed our 6th, traveling Discovery. I cannot overstate the service, how accommodating the entire staff has been. I do not have any negative experience to share. Keep up the great work

The best/worst thing was the cabin type. The balcony cabin was small with only one chair but the mini suite was excellent. The worst thing on my cruise was the lack of sanitation. No one to check the hand washing. People came straight from the pool to the "market place" and wet the chairs. Not fun to sit on a wet chair the first time.

5 Skies definitely sounds like something I don’t look forward to! There has been only one show I don’t care for, Magic to Do. I went to see it a second time on a different cruise and didn’t change my mind. Unfortunately it will be showing on our next cruise in a couple of weeks. I suspect I will have the same feeling about 5 Skies when on the Enchanted in a couple of months! Thank you for your review! Lois

I'm a big fan of magic and was really looking forward to it, but I found that all of the singing, dancing, plot, etc. really detracted from the magic, which was a shame. The cast was all talented, but, as with 5 Skies, it just didn't work for me.

I don't believe there was a white or black and white party on this cruise. If I remember correctly, they did have a gold and white party, but we didn't partake in that. There was also a decade party, but I can't recall if it was a 70's party or an 80's party. Thanks for the questions and thanks for watching!

Thanks for your insights, very enjoyable. I agree about the casino smoking areas, & don’t see why they haven’t banned smoking in the casino, as Celebrity did years ago. We very much enjoyed our Enchanted repo from NY in 2022, & are planning to sail her this year. We love the light, airy decor of the entire ship. One minor negative thing about Enchanted is the lack of steps for entering every pool on board. It’s tough on these old knees climbing ladders!

Agree about the casino smoking areas and wish smoking in casino was banned. Returned a week ago from a 20 day Eastern Caribbean on Enchanted. I never entered the casino but one night we were inside walking near center atrium and the smell of smoke came flying through us. My other half walked through the casino without stopping to gamble and said it was very smoky. 8:34

We loved our Caribbean cruise but that one was with Carnival. Look at the size of that ship! My sister is afraid to use a ship due to the massive quantity of people -- too many crowds. She would rather be in a tent in the wilderness. In a way, she is right about the crowds especially that first day 'muster station' / fire drill stuff. And tenting in the wilderness has always been fun - except when your's sleeping in the tent nicknamed as "the Dorito bag" in an area known for bears. The amazing thing on the cruises I have been on, you can get on and off the ship relatively quickly due to the large number of entrances/exits. I see Mrs Backwoods Tourist got captured in the video during the massive luggage migration.

We are going on the Enchanted Princess at the end of January 2025 …. is there a hair blow dryer in the stateroom?

Yes there is, but when we sailed on the Enchanted, we found ours in a rather unusual place. Normally we've found the hair dryer attached to the wall by the desk, but on the Enchanted, it was plugged in inside of of the top desk drawers. Thanks for asking and thanks for watching.
