I fell in love with the artwork. It’s what sold me. My mother is a folk artist and reminds me of her work. As an herbalism student, to know that the deck uses herb/plant references just sold me even further. Just lovely!

Unfortunately, "Witta" is not a very "old" book on Irish pagan tradition. It was written by the late Edain McCoy and published by Llewellyn in 1993. It is infamous for presenting dubious and fallacious lore on Irish culture. But my main problem with this deck is that it presents much that is not medieval, such as the "Maiden, Mother, Crone" (of the Magick card), which was a poetic invention of Robert Graves, and the Tree Calendar was also an invention of his, popular with neo-Pagans. This is a deck that Llewellyn could have published also, as well as Hay House. I was also puzzled why the author suggested a fake Irish potato spell for the Isis (Abundance) card instead of a traditional Egyptian working. So puzzling!

I like it, the gilding in the artwork has been photographed really well, it looks gold. The artwork is a delightful mix of illuminated art, orthodox art and folk art styles. I enjoyed the view of your sacred space it fit the theme of the deck perfectly :) Thanks Kelly

I'm still watching so you may say something about this, but I have this deck and it works really well with a lot of Marseille style or reproduction pip tarot decks. It's hard to find oracles to work alongside the repro decks sometimes, but this oracle seems to work really well. 😀

Never heard of the deck until I saw your video but love love love the artwork & the concept! I do agree with you about some of the modern/ stripy legged cards - I also wish they are kept within the medieval theme. Thank you for the review, Kelly :)

I think the concept is amazing and Penny Jane made a good description of it being a mix of Illuminated, Orthodox and Folk art styles and I can see that in the stripy legged cards (the folk art) and makes it all gel a bit more in my mind :D

Expected Galic only but it's wonderful all the symbols are explained actually the book sounds very detailed and the quality of the video seemed excellent to me. I am on a disability pension, supporting two people and money is to tight for me to buy courses that interest me. : ( I keep praying that things will get better in the future, but little has happened as of yet.

I will definitely be doing a free version, actually I thought I had one in my handouts but I'll check, this is more just all my research combined some from various books that I have and such so I still have to collate it into something that can be shared, when it's at that point I'll do a basic Ogham video and have the handout so watch out for that!

Thank you so much for understanding Kelly, not many do. Believe me, there is so much out there that I want to learn, but because of the income, I can't. Same with getting private readings. No one needs them more than the ones who can't afford them because of the high cost! As it would be nice to know to try and sock some money aside because a rainy day is coming. : )
