Having tossed a few of those packing molded carboard myself and just itching at the idea of throwing away 'P.U.M.' (Potentially Useful Material) it was great to see you build this. Loved how you 'broke' up the outline the homemade 'sculptamold'. Great tips - loved the armature tree! Flocking to fill cracks = 1/4 round for builders! another great video

Thanks for the positive feedback! I really appreciate your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed that video... I did use a lot of different techniques on this build and I really like the way it turned out as well👍

Absolutely gorgeous! A suggestion, maybe use some spray foam underneath to give it a big more rigidity for the inevitable moment players push on it and ruin your beautiful work.

Awesome, thanks for the comment! And yes, I do have some expanding foam that would do the job... Thanks for the tip👍

Very nice! Packing materials can be a great inspiration for builds. I was expecting ruins when I saw the packing material shape, but this was great. Well done!

Cool! Yeah, I previously built a "Gun Sentry Tower" which could have been done here as well but I went with the fantasy theme here. Glad to hear you liked this👍

Another excellent video! Covered so many useful aspects in one fell swoop - repurposing packaging material, 3D printed objects, sculpting, making trees - just to name a few!

Same! I've seen this type of material used for Tatooine architecture since the texture is already halfway there, plus the shape really pointed that way, going in a fantasy direction (and using Rapunzel's tower, no less!) was unexpected but welcome :D

so I had a grand idea/challenge, I not expecting you to accept but if you do I assure you'll be a legend and honestly I wouldn't issue it if I didn't think you could do it. i (a mere mortal with mediocre crafting skills) challenge the crafting brothers to build in any scale you want (but secretly hoping you could do in regular 28mm scale for miniatures) Castle Greyskull, for extra credit you could build the base surrounded by the endless moat/abyss surrounding the castle. hope to see your reply.

Hey there... Cool, so I Googled Castle Greyskull to have a look at some of the images and although I am not familiar with the name as it relates to the structure, I think this could be a really cool build! I would say that the chances are very good that I will accept this challenge, my mind is working already so I'll be in touch. I have a few builds in the works right now but in a few weeks this could be on the table👍. Thanks for the suggestion!

@@thecraftingbrothers9448 sorry maybe I was stretching the age gap a bit too much but at least I thought you knew it from the masters of the universe toy line. how knows may be if you research it you find a connection with this odd toy mythology wich is both crazy, overblown but somehow it works, after all Motu is a mayor pop culture reference at least for childs born in the 80's if not just for the pure knowledge that crafting this will sure make you an icon in the community, be careful though fans are picky with the details. tally ho good sir

@@1polvomagico Roger that... Thanks for the info & I will definitely consult with the other crafting brother who I know will have more insight on the topic. Sounds intriguing🤔

@carlos scott moreira DUH!!! I'll say again dear brother... DUH! Castle Grayskull - Masters of the Universe - He Man... a huge portion of my childhood. Okay, to be fair, this is Greg (The nerdy one). John is the master crafter. I think we should build it together!
@1polvomagico3 жыл бұрын
@@thecraftingbrothers9448 jajaja ok I get it not everyone has the same childhood or interests, anyway if you go for it is quite a challenge, since Castle Greyskull the playset only has two of the 4 outer walls but if you look for more images you can find the plans layout what is outside and inside, in other words castle Greyskull is for many toy fans as castle ravenloft is for many D&D fans, and iconic castle with his own look and feel to it, nevermind the fact that it is sitting in a island surrounded by an abyss/moat that goes down to the center of the planet where a 4 arm giant lives.

That is an awesome way to craft. I Tend to just try and make something of what I have these days rather than starting with a specific goal. You’re very proficient in All of your builds

Ah... the wonderful utility of found molded packing material! Were there any problems with moisure weakening the paper packing material?
@thecraftingbrothers94483 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly, no... After the ModPodge coat, it stayed quite rigid, it was pretty thick to begin with and another viewer suggested filling with expanding foam, which I thought was a good idea. Thanks for watching!
