I am so damn happy with how this beast is coming together, the stuff of childhood dreams and we are getting it done FAST!!!! To be finally going on this journey with the support of Wētā Workshop is just incredible. The summer weather, the old Rohan metal models, the sound of the battle of Helms Deep as I'm working, this is just PEAK nostalgia, and I cannot wait to give you all a finished Helms Deep video for Christmas

How many litres of printing material was this? (Just want to calculate the cost if I were to do it in Resin)
@rbleisem2 ай бұрын
So, you're a Dwarven Iron Fist player, Zorp? How big would the Primarch, then, be? I mean, you build & fortify, you know.
@daringdarius56862 ай бұрын
@@Patrick-y4d1z As someone who has 3D printed for a few years (mostly FDM, but I have resin printed a bit as well), I'd put this in the 12-18 kg area for filament depending or about 15-20 liters of resin? This is me being optimistic and considering it's been hollowed out as much as possible, and that you use foam to support the structure like Zorp did. Otherwise, increase by about 50% (18-25 kg of PLA, about 20-28 kg/liter bottles of resin) I mean, still dirt cheap to do considering the alternative resin cast/pours would be... less than ideal, but, yea. Electricity cost included (I have fairly cheap electricity in my area), errr, cost to build would be around (assuming $22/kg of filament) $600 in materials? (I buy my PLA in bulk and take advantage of sales, so, for myself specifically and my lower electricity costs compared to the rest of the USA, let alone the world, mmmm, $280?)
