This may sound weird but, I'm a Scooby Doo (SD) fan and years ago Adult Swim aired the Mysteries Incorporated version of SD that had a few episodes with a college professor (and published author) named H. P. Hatecraft who the kids enlisted for help with some monsters. I highly recommend viewing the show in its entirety as it was funny and had an overarching theme that I thought was very well done for a cartoon. Plus the "Lovecraft" episodes were a favorite! The full series can be found on KZbin if you're interested. 😉
