This deck is degenerate, I love it. Out-aggros Mono-Red and Soldiers, eats midrange piles for breakfast, it even got me past three resolved Atraxas, the cloned Ossifications just kept on coming. Put in 23 matches so far, 92% WR on the play, and "just" 60% on the draw...

on your question with skrelv he's not that amazing, but he's necessary to protect thalia/cathar's vs the burns. he basically eats removal first. and in mirror matches going in unblockable is kinda good sometimes. or going in vs a mono colored deck.

Probably because wedding is slow. With this deck you're trying to kill them way before wedding matters. But I guess that's what I'm putting in instead of extra Calix copies.

@@Basoosh Seems right. Skrelv shows up at 36, after games holding 2 Katildas and choosing not to play a Commune. Random 1-ofs generally mean there's a better build out there.

There is a REALLY stupid combo with Calix and Invasion of Gobakan--once you flip the battle, you can use Calix to summon copies of the enchantment, which stack and make it virtually impossible to remove your board, while growing it out of control.

@@samsimmons8370 It's something I stumbled into in Historic Brawl, and it was so incredibly obnoxious. I got 3 copies of the enchantment on three successive turns in one game. Also, there is a really strong curve in standard: 1) Generous Visitor 2) Invasion of Gobakan (take removal to protect Calix) 3) Calix, which triggers the Visitor and Calix to make the Visitor a 3/3, which can swing in and immediately flip the invasion, which lets you put 2 +1/+1 counters on Calix. At the end of turn 3, you have a 4/4 Visitor, a 4/4 Calix, and an enchantment that protects against removal.

imo the deck works best with a couple hallowed hauntings and a board wipe for emergencies. also think running a copy of glorious sunrise is important but i don't see that too often anymore. gw enchantments can't quite be entirely aggro but doesn't work as midrange either, you gotta toe the line between the two.

This build wants you to play it as a full-on aggro deck. It gets under midrange decks very easily, especially if you can get a couple of tramplers down by T3. Bankbuster and Fable are just wasted tempo for your opponent, and if you kept one Ossification (or can secure a Calix trigger with one on play already) for their first major threat, then you're just swinging for the win on T4/T5. Even against other aggro decks, this deck just wants to race them, and gets there faster.

this is a deck that needs to exist. because after this video, i went from bottom gold to plat not losing once. All the people i played against were playing either Grixis or Rakdos and just got smash because we are in a meta where those decks dont build against aggro and they play bankbusters on turn 2 when you have 4-5 power on turn 2-3.

Cut the Michikos. One is perfect. Put 2 radiant grace. Gives +1/0 vigilance and comes back as "creatures your opponent control come in tapped" when the creature dies. And one more katilda for the lifelink. I never made it to Mythic playing arena for 3 years. And did it from bronze to mythic in two days with this deck. Extremely powerful. Pounces monored, and esper legend big time.

I want to use that Calix as an edh commander and use his ability to make token copies of Doubling Season. So first time you make 2 token copies of Doubling Season. Then next time you make 8 tokens. 3rd turn you make 1024 tokens.

If they block, you no longer have to worry about the harvester because they trade. if they dont block you get the trigger to copy the companion and the etb tribbwr of calix lets you put another counter on him so he survives the harvester. Worst case the board is just calix. Best case you have a calix and two dogs.

Calix only triggers on enchanted creatures (and Calix itself), not enchantment creatures. He wouldn't have got a trigger by connecting with the dog, without enchanting it with audacity first.

Crafting mythics is no big deal at all. I have never run out of Mythic wild cards, my bottle neck is with rare wildcards. Mythic wildcards might be more rare, but you need many more rares than mythics in all decks. There's rare lands and much more rare cards used in all the best decks. I say this because I know you try to be mindful of budget players, but it shows you are a whale when you talk about crafting mythic cards like its a big deal lol

Same here. I have like 12 mythic wilds and when I open a pack with one of those instead of a rare I get so bummed. It’s way harder to keep up with rare lands in the decks you want to play then anything else. I have to lean to the mono colors for that very reason.
