Love this video. It would be great to compare Epiphan Pearl, AWS Elemental Link and maybe some Kiloview.

Great test. I would like you to test the Magewell Ultraencode AIO, which sits between the Vmix and the Makito, and has a lot of parameters to tweak.

We’re glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the suggestion! We'll definitely take a look at some of the Magewell Ultra Encoders in this series.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Kiloview Encoders , Decoders might be the next one? Or some enc or denc cards for openGear platforms. It would be splendid if there is encoders that uses JPEG XS or JPEG 2000 can be transported thruough the WAN.

Great video, and set up with the blind test. I'm currently producing on vMix and sending NDI to OBS to stream to KZbin - using NVENC or Intel quicksync HEVC encoding over the newish EnhancedRTMP. I'm using OBS for wider codec, transport support but also it's adaptive bitrate support is helpful as I'm normally in remote areas with poor connections - I'd rather send lower quality video than drop frames. Most of my cameras are coming in over low quality Chinese HDMI to IP hardware encoders so the final encoder probably isn't having much effect! I don't know if the Makito supports HEVC or AV1 over RTMP. If not Makito 5mbps H.264 vs OBS 5mps NVENC HEVC / Intel HEVC / Intel AV1 would be interesting for which is better when bandwidth constrained. BMD Web presenter is the only other hardware encoder I can think of. My hope is Intel release a low power CPU that will do AV1 encoding and then it might make sense to build a micro PC that just handles encoding.

We're so happy that you enjoyed the video! OBS vs vMix is definitely on the list for us to compare, so be sure to look out for it! Also thank you for your suggestion for the Blackmagic Design Web Presenter!

Please test against Blackmagic Web Presenter 4k. We have several of these in our environment now. Interested to see how it compares to the Makito.
