The way you explained about the politics is why I love this channel, you have strong beliefs and you stick to them. You even call out the devs, that shows a lot of back bone to be honest. The game itself isn't up my alley. I've never been a fan of point and click adventures, yes I understand some of them are great games in there own right, but in the same breath I just can't get excited about them. For the people that do like this type of game it does look like it will perk interest.

Yea, I mean, I try not to be too hard on people because at the end of the day, its their project and as long as it doesn't contain anything illegal, they are free to do whatever they want. They don't need to cater to me at all. They were kind enough to grant me a review code and as I said, I genuinely appreciate it when companies do that (big or small). However, I can't just plaster on a smile and give nothing but praise. My "job" is to give people the official, factual information and then give my opinions. I think that, if the Rumpf reference was just somewhere in the game and never really mentioned, I would be like "really?" then I would move on. BUT, the massive "please believe us" disclaimer at the start was an instant red flag. The moment I read that, I knew exactly what kind of reference was coming AND I guessed correctly on who it was going to be about as well. It doesn't ruin the game and it is what it is. Just disappointing and sad to see. I played some of the classic point and clicks as a kid but I haven't really played one in 20 years! Enjoyed Encodya though! Haha! I mean, if they had of said "yea its a Trump reference", I'd have said fine whatever, you're the developer. The thing is though, they CLEARLY did it and then tried to pretend they hadn't lol. Thank you for the review. Was checking this title as it comes out as a physical game for the Switch here next month (only cartridges and no downloads for me) Looks like one for the maybe side for me. I love the genre, but usually they are too short and I have a very good memory, so it's usually not fun the second time around. One thing about your review; don't sound so apologetic. Not only about the political part, but for instance the age group you think will play this. "I'm not saying they are all like that" "they can't help it" etc (don't wrote down the exact words). No you don't. if someone is offended it is their problem. You just give your honest opinion, that's what a reviewer should do. Almost as if you put a disclaimer on your review too😉

I hear you my friend, its a fair point. This is one of my older videos and I was really trying to avoid "rocking the boat" so to speak. Nowadays I give my opinions a bit more directly although, I'll admit, I do still say similar things from time to time. Great review! I also was grateful to get a game key for this game. I enjoyed the game overall. I think some of the voice acting was bad, some of the puzzles dragged on/were frustrating to complete and the ending made no sense whatsoever.

Got it on sale for the switch for £5 and decided to check a review before starting this was nicely done, I like to avoid online drama so the political reference doesn't bother me and I don't think it should need to be justified. Tina sharing the same voice actor as Yanfei from Genshin impact is a nice bonus she's really good (I escaped the gatcha hell recently but Yanfei was a joy to play).

Damn....I hit purchase after watching the 1st half of the review. Then as soon I purchased it I saw the part come up on the politics and I was wishing I saw all of it before making the purchase. I hate video games that try to push view points down your throat in a not so obvious marketing way. I agree not necessary and not needed in anyway in a video game. I wish there was a 30 second rule for digital purchases. Anyways, o'well I guess I will bite the bullet on this one.

Ah man! Sorry to hear that! To be honest though, while I don't like real-world political or social commentary in my games either, its a small part of the game. I think you'll easily be able to enjoy it despite those annoyances. Considering the disclaimer at the start, they knew what they were doing. They could have simply changed the visual design of the bad guy, even just slightly, and it would have been fine. But no, they couldn't help themselves could they! @@ConsolesOnlyGaming -- Instead of a disclaimer they could have came out with an update to change the imagine. They could have even said anything else on that poster except "VOTE FOR MR RUMPF". Like "Someone Get Me Some Mickey Ds" or "What Heck Is A Nuclear Triad?" It's all subliminal marketing. Anyways, all in all great review of the game and I'm glad for the honest review despite being send a digital code by the publisher.

Any game that promotes Trump gets a plus in my book. After what the current criminal administration has done to screw over the country, this type of messaging is helpful in getting the next generation to start thinking about who they vote into office.

Yea, I mean I pretty much agree with you honestly. If they had of just dropped the reference/ satire in and said nothing of it, I probably would have rolled my eyes and moved on. The issue I had was the disclaimer at the start, trying to convince us that there is no satire or political narrative. The fact they did that, tells me that they did mean for it to be there but were trying to cover themselves. All in all, its really not a big deal and doesn't hurt the game in anyway. Its just annoying when they want to have their cake and eat it too. Either its satire or it isn't, don't just add it in and then pretend like you didn't lol. I think that's fair enough. Including a reference and then saying it wasnt a reference is a bit annoying but that said, I do think the game is worth playing if you like point and click adventures. If you're interested in it, try not to let the reference bother you too much. However, if you cant get past it then I fully understand, I suspect you wont be the only one. Thanks for watching!👍🏻

@@ConsolesOnlyGaming ​ It’s on sale again for $3 (or $4?) on Switch and I thought I’d give it a shot. I don’t care about about politics but I am anti-left and leftist media likes to say one thing but mean something else. Gaslighting is a no-no but at the same time, I love point and click puzzle games. I thought “ok, why not, it’s cheap and if I don’t like oh well $3-$4 is not a big loss.” Well… actually I’m enthralled with the game and I’ll tell you why, it’s because it’s basically a REPLICA of Ghost in the Shell and I’ve been obsessed with GITS since I was a teenager and wanted to live in that sort of chaotic, Wild Wild West world but it’s set in the future with robots and such. The game copies not only the way the GITS looks but even the concepts of memory storage and having it digitized and stored/accessed by a robot came from GITS world. The game is set in “Neo Berlin” but there’s too many Japanese buildings for it to be believable because Japanese people wouldn’t relocate to Germany, a place where it’s culturally rigid and restrictive because that closely mirrors their homeland. I’m part Japanese and my family even explained this cultural aspect to me so I’d understand why I’m American and not Japanese (but that’s a bit of a tangent). I suppose if they called the place Neo Tokyo or something like that it’ll be too obvious since there’s a small GITS following outside of Japan. At any rate, the game is really good IF 1. you can get beyond the developers’ lies about injecting their personal political stance and 2. you like dystopian themes. The game is explorative, not exactly free ranging but it’s not quite linear either, but I like being able to go to places and check them out not in any particular order. So like you, my favorite part of the game is exploring new locations. I guess for me, the biggest thing is the game allows me to imagine that I’m in the GITS world and I can bypass playing as an annoying little brat voiced by someone who makes the kid even more annoying and unrelateable because 9 year olds and even 19 year olds simply ARE NOT political! People under the age of 16 are wrapped up in their own world (well a lot of people are at any age), the point is, very very few of them can look outside themselves. Needs need to be met, survival is of the utmost importance. A little street urchin wouldn’t care about hating some political figure or anyone for that matter who has no direct dealings with them on a day to day basis. She’s starving and has to go foraging for food from trash and gather supplies from the dirty streets. All that energy the developers spent in making that kid express “hatred” to someone who has NO real bearing on her life, that’s just nonsense and delusional. So yes, characterization for Tina is totally out of place. Although it’s annoying, I totally overwritten that part of the game and placed myself in the story instead. That’s really the only way I think this game could be enjoyable, TBH. Otherwise, I can see why most people would say it’s boring.

I did indeed. I personally don't want modern day politics in my video games. If they don't bother you then that's cool man, I'm not arguing. Its just a con for me, so I mentioned it. Reviews are only ever the opinions and viewpoints of the person presenting the review. That's why I always say people should seek as many reviews on the game game as possible. I didn't really find the puzzles to be finicky during my through but you're right, some people may feel that way. I didn't, but some might. Regardless, you're absolutely welcome to disagree with what I've put forth. In fact, I welcome such conversations on my channel.
