The core of this message is classical orthodox Christianity.. The message is the unadulterated oratory found in the immediate aftermath of the resurrection…..All in the middle of NYC in the 21st century… in and of itself this is proof a profound historical event knows no time restriction and still changes lives .

I agree. I went to redeemer for 14 years never met Tim but was inspired as like today. In a way I have met him and Jesus like I’ve never known because of deep contemplation into the word. I love to grasp and hold things now, beyond my 5 senses.

I could listen to Tim Keller all day! It's mesmerizing how much truth he shared in this brief sermon with only a few words. To God be the glory! Btw, that quote from Shusaku Endo was really good; Endo wrote the very intriguing novel called "Silence".

There are 3 versions of 'saw' in those passages. Verse 8- Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He 'saw' and believed. That word is (hor-ah-o) (to see with the mind and then believe by experiencing). . Mary saw, Simon Peter considered explanations, John experienced the seeing, and believed. I really enjoy Timothy Kellers messages. Happy Easter!

Id like to comment that i do believe that our heavenly father does reveal himself to those that are weak or those that strive to be Christ like. I remember a time when i was graced by our heavenly father with an OVERWHELMING sence of peace, happiness and joy for simply helping out my wifes familys restaurant take out the trash at night like ive always done. It was so profound that i will always remember it. At the time i didnt understand it...and have since, longed to have that feeling again! This sermon reminded me of that time...i havent been to church in a while as my work usually prevents me, but we(my family) have agreed to watch a sermon on tv or youtube together for family time on Sundays. Thank you for this video!

It seems Mary was faithless ,by everything she said, loving Jesus with a natural love. Until Jesus imparted faith to her by the word he spoke, leading her to obedience to the Word of God.

Not to be rude, but the musicians looked like they were in pain. I love listening to Pastor Keller and the depths of knowledge that GOD has gifted him. I was fortunate to go with my daughter to Redeemer (West NYC) , he was on the East side that morning, by we were blessed none the less.

Not sure what you mean. Easter is defined as the day he rose from the dead. It didn't exist before that. He was buried on the day before the Sabbath, and Easter is the day after the Sabbath. The third day.

Struggling with the question is good, if there is a chance he is real and his claims are true, ask him and he will answer. (The day is specified, please read the text again in its entirety). But if you don't believe him to be true, the answer doesn't matter.

all christian holidays are pagan , especially easter and christmas easter is supposed to be passover christmas is not the time of CHRISTs birthday, JEREMIAH 10 tells us not to be like the heathen during this time...Jeremiah Chapter 10 1Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 2Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. 6Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. he was born in sept not dec,, he was conceived in december the december born baby you are worshipping is TAMMUZ not JESUS CHRIST thanks for your comment mrs long

You fail to account for the resurrection of Jesus and its impact on the world. With the resurrection and exaltation of Jesus as the true King of the World, God now claims the entire world as fulfillment of the Promise to Abraham, not just a small piece of land in the Middle east (assumed in Romans 4:13). In 1 Corinthians Paul argues that God is the Creator God and everything He made is good and can be used by Christians (1 Corinthians 8:6) He certainly would include Christmas trees as being part of the created order declared "very good" by God in creation and now redeemed. This is Paul's "strong conscience" position. Christians who feel they must observe the Old Testament rules and regulations pertaining to the created order are limited by their weak conscience. Praise God that they are Christian, but their theology doesn't grasp the fulness of the Gospel liberating humanity from the food laws and the like. For fully informed Christians the 'Christianization' of the world is not to be feared, but embraced and celebrated. God is reclaiming His world, one step at a time, using the Body of Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to do it. Only God can build His kingdom, but He uses the Church to do His will. Only God can make the new heavens and new earth of Revelation 21, but Christians are called to live the life of the age to come here and now in the midst of this present evil age. Embrace the fulness of the redemptive work of Christ and enjoy Christmas and all the other formerly pagan holidays, events, and parts of the created order that are reclaimed in the name of God.
