Encounters with Australian Birds Episode 2: Apostle Birds

I have three groups of Apostlebirds that visit me here (7, 13 and 17 in the three groups), they have become quite tame and hang around the place, in Menindee we called them "Wobbygoks" and they are a scruffy little bird but they are very intelligent and have an enquiring mind. If I leave the sliding door open they happily come inside the house and wander about, they don't cause any trouble. Also known around here as "Lousy Jacks" and "CWA birds", I love it when six or seven cram in the bird bath together for a communal bath. Excellent video of a great little Aussie bird...😉

Thanks Dave for your comments. That's great that they trust you enough to come inside.I have read of those other names you mention.My grandfather grew up on Bindara station not far form Menindee.I love your train videos. cheers Geoff

@@pembridgehouse Just waiting for the Wobbies to present their new chicks, cannot be far off, I have two White Winged Chough chicks, they are relatives to the Apostlebirds even though they look nothing like them. I seen Wobbies in Peterborough SA too, daughter calls them "Happy Chappies". Thanks for your compliments on my rail video, thanks Geoff.
