Yeah ,ending and selling similar definitely works for me . Imma newer seller (doing this for about 4 months) and have less inventory so when I'm short ,I end 5 items that are about to relist themselves and sell similar. My Autoposher would do it for me, but I don't allow it because I like to manually see why the item was sitting. Many times its due to typos, bad pricing, accidental pricing, wrong item specifics, outdated STR etc. Other times my item just got buried in the algorithm so selling similar gave it a fresh start. I also don't have enough inventory to list 10 a day ,instead I just sell similar on 5 items and list 5 new items to meet my goal. I currently have about 263 items listed and have sold 261 (not including my crosslisting) Ebay thinks I'm putting 10 new items up and I guess it likes that 🤷🏿‍♂

Yes, selling similar kept my store afloat when I had nothing to list and I was maintaining the same sales (at the time a small store so just a few a day) and I also notice old items I sell similar will sell right away. Not all, but a few which means it must push it up in the search. Happy Birthday!

I'm glad you tried end/ss. It worked for me to get some older stale things to sell. I did a test last year. 25% of the items sold. That's why I kept bringing it up to you. Hopefully, there is a sweet spot you can find between the end/ss & your progressive markdown. 😊

Me personally I think this works great, I know alot of resellers say oh no it doesn't work, but truthfully that comes from people who have thousands of items. Which in fact can be very time consuming but selling similar definitely works. Ofcourse with title/price adjustments. Glad you found some value with this method!

End the item...edit it, change some things around lower the price up promo whatever then list. I sold those abercrombie fitch the other day also. It can work.

I end and sell similar every day. I just lower the asking price down 5%, which is easy because you can just do a bulk edit. 100 items a day. My store fluctuates around 3k items, so basically, every item, if it doesn't sell, gets discounted 5% every 30 days.

Im with you on quantity selling. I cant find good wnoigh stiff around here to do quality only. Id say half the brands i hear sellers talk about, i have mever seen or heard of. You definitely have to be in a good area to find the higher quality/higher selling priced items.

Hi Marcus, when you end / sell similar do you also end your promoted listings campaign? Or it just catches up ? Like when you end your listing do you also end the promoted on them and when re-listed you go add them you your campaign?

about the sell similar, it doesn't work well anymore. Last year, if you sell similar, normally there will be a pop in sales , that was only saving grace that work for many ebay sellers but now ebay took that away. If you haven't used sell similar for many months and used sell similar, you will see positive outcome from it but if you use it often , it doesn't work, in fact it will get really bad. I think ebay AI knows that when seller do sell similar, AI looks at the all the pictures and compare it before and after and if the picture is the same picture, I think ebay AI treat that listing as old listing even though you used sell similar. If you have slow sale than normal, use sell similar and also call in to ebay and talk to selling team and ask them to refresh your ebay account. Refreshng ebay account is STILL a thing, it never went away.

I experienced that last yr too and stopped doing the sell similar when the sales seemed to die off from doing so. Toward the end I started changing the first photo and that worked. But not all listings have a 2nd photo that would fall into place for a 1st photo, so I just stopped doing it.
