So much of this story feels like someone who fell in love with someone who was completely unavailable to him. And so all of his 'relationship' with her was experienced through his dreams and his relationship with sleep. Like someone watching everything he desires through a pane of fogged glass.

I'm convinced the end of this song is the sound of UK ambulance sirens through water. He is being pulled up from the water toward the surface. I also think this entire album is him working through the stages of grief while in a liminal state of drowning while trying to unalive. Not sure if you've seen Over the Garden Wall, but *START SPOILER* the whole story kind of happens while a character is suspended in water, drowning, and has an epiphany that brings them back to consciousness. *END SPOILER* This whole album reminds me of that structure.

When one goes through the stages of grief, it's not uncommon to dip in and out of each stage, or revisit a stage. They don't necessarily need to be sequential or in any specific order. Also, what if he is referring to himself? What if he gained a self of awareness or 3rd person POV with the power of Sleep?

I believe you are on the right path with some theories and they'll definitely be expanded upon with the third album. A couple songs on the second half people think were just sort of thrown in and don't fit but I believe you will understand exactly what is going on. Can't wait to see your reactions. 🤘🔥🤘❤️🫂

"To remember what I did before, The stories that you never told to me" My interpretation is that he did some things in the relationship and didn't realize how it affected her at the time. We've probably all done that - said something, did something, did not do something - and it hurts the other person and they didn't let on but it festers and builds. And the "him" simply means that she moved on and is now with that 'him', and Vessel still misses her.

Gah, I can't....his voice is soooo good! Yeah, it confused me as well when he said "they" and "him". I'm thinking of infidelity in the relationship as well. Possibly she maybe was engaged or married to another man. And the stories she never told to him maybe was her entanglements/ relationship with the other person. Definitely something to think about. But yeah, beautiful song, totally had me balling, reminding me of a toxic relationship I had.
