Sad to loose a good animal. We were in a restaurant in Homer in 2022 and recognized the young lady in this video from when she was in Alaska The Last Frontier a few times. She was kind enough to come to our table and talk to us for a few minutes. Nice young lady.

I’m sorry for your loss Otto. Sophie gave your family a lot of good years and memories. I took care of my father’s old dog after he passed. He was nearly blind but he was always able to find his way back to the house here on our farm. One day he went out like he always did and never came back and I never found him. I felt guilty about that for a long time. When you raise animals you are going to have to deal with death from time to time. It’s always harder when you’ve had them for a long time.

As an old retired guy I sit and watch out the window a lot, maybe I'm a bit of a nosy neighbor. I was watching last year 25 April when a Philly was born next door. I was watching 7 months later when the same Philly was put in the ground by a machine just like yours. Missing was the love. Missing was the humanity. Missing was the reflections and actions of those who truly love animals. Maybe my faith in humanity has been restored a little. Thank you.

32 years is quite a long time to have anybody in our lives -animals or people. Sophie was around to know 4 generations of Kilchers, and that's incredible.
