"There's no way you're getting through that door, 47" Literally just walks through. Quality, as always

The best run I've done so far for H3. The strategy I came up with has no RNG at all, just very tight timings. Here is a full breakdown for those interested: 1) Killing Hush on the top floor turned out to be a huge pain in the ass. Initially I tried distracting his bodyguard while Hush was walking away from the computer (01:45), killing him there in the back room and hiding his body in the relaxation room's closet, but I couldn't make it work. The bodyguard would ignore all distractions after I killed Hush and would always spot while I was hiding the body. So I went with a slightly slower option. To explain what happens: 01:46 - I wait until Hush walks a few steps into the room and then make sure that he sees me until the detection bar reaches ~30%. It alerts Hush and stops him for a moment. 01:56 - I then walk to the right side of the room and let the detection bar rise above ~60%. This makes Hush suspicious and tricks him into investigating my last know location. 02:00 - I take cover making sure that my head is turned left and I'm very close to the wall. Otherwise Hush would spot me as he walks past me. 02:17 - I wait until Hush finishes investigating and says it aloud ("Alright then, where was I?"). I then wait 2 seconds and throw the pipe to distract him. 1 second late or early and this wouldn't work, because for some reason only the stationary guard nearby would react to it. 02:22 - Once Hush hears the noise he gives the command to his bodyguard to investigate it. He always does that so you don't have to wait for him to say it out loud, simply confirming that the bodyguard also heard the noise is enough. 02:24 - After that I garrote him. Fiber wire takedown makes zero noise, so even if the bodyguard is one step away he won't hear anything. 2) Killing Royce while she is in her office is simple, but getting there in time requires a lot of very precise movements. 10 seconds late and you'll miss the chance to take her down there and would have to wait a bit before she walks down to the data core. While killing her near the stairs to the data core is possible, it's hard to combine it with the trick I used to force the guard pick up the gun from the data core (06:46). Few things of note: 03:30 - First, I have to create a distraction to make the guard look up from his computer. Then I make him suspicious the same way I've done it with Hush. This makes him go out of the security office and open the locked door for me. 04:20 - It may seem like the camera should spot me picking up the gun, but as long as you hug the closet on the left it won't react to it. I think cameras can't see 47 moving his arms, only his body. 04:53 - I leave the gun on the floor in the data core room, so that when the guard patrolling the hallway walks back to his spot near the door he would see it and go pick it up. If the data core room is empty when you come inside it after you kill both targets then Olivia would seal the doors and you would have to go through a lengthy cutscene of deleting the files manually. After that there is also a pretty long escape sequence. But if there is someone else inside the room you can skip all that and run straight to the exit.

Great run as always. The facility part was very cool and tense. I found this area quite challenging, so I resorted to killing Imogen outside by shooting her drones (usually don't shoot in my hitman runs, but eh..), but it's more cool to sneak around in the facility. Also semi-proud to say I've wasted a lot of time and managed to complete the main hitman trilogy in a similar fashion (sa/so/no ko), uploaded on my channel as playlists with annotated times for waiting of targets. There are some cool stealth moments (most original, some more mission-story based, but still hard under those conditions), perhaps a stealth guru like yourself would appreciate. Curious about how you'd approach the next mission. I killed Tamara in a very "gamey" way which I don't like, but perhaps there are more "immersive" ways.

Incredible. So, so smooth and a great showcase of 47's calm, calculated character. The manipulation of Hush and his bodyguard was very brave, jeez.

Have to say, dealing with Hush' bodyguard without a KO is much more difficult than it appears. From what I gathered, he uses a unique AI template that no one else has: he reacts to noises with a delay (so that other NPCs take priority when it comes to investigating) and completely ignores distractions until Hush directly commands him to check on them, making it hard to isolate him. Kinda weird that no other bodyguard I've encountered so far acts like that.

@@prenatual I know were probably going into too much detail about this but since we're passionate about Hitman games and how A.I.s' react in the game... As we all know, when players cause a distraction, guards normally say, "Command, I heard a noise. Going to investigate" and/or something along those lines. The guards say that line and then investigate the distraction. I thought that with Hush's bodyguard, when he hears a distraction, his delay may actually be the same amount of time it takes normal guards to say the line, "Command, I heard a noise....". But with Hush's bodyguard, he just keeps quiet. There had been several times where I had deal with weird behavior coming from the bodyguards of targets in the Hitman games.

As usual, awesome video, prenatual. At 4:11, I had no idea the 47's camera could turn on the t.v.'s. I know it can open electronic doors/vents/hack the computers for the A.I. to take their breaks but I didn't know it could turn on the t.v.'s. Glad I watched your video since I learned something new.

Do you have a hitlist (ha-ha) of games you want to work on, after H3? I'm not expecting a detailed itinerary of the specific games or anything, just curious if you have a plan or want to tackle games as the mood takes you.

I want to beat the two new Dooms before anything else. Was always a big fan of id software games. Maybe try some online FPS, since I haven't played any kind of PvP in almost a decade. Then Dishonored 2, Mankind Divided, Far Cry 5, RDR2, Monster Hunter World, Nioh 1/2, AC Unity and AC Origins. Also really looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3 later this year. None of that will go on the channel, though. If you want to know what stealth games I will most likely do vids for in 2021 it's Aragami 2 and Hitman 3 DLC.

how did you know the "2552" code?
@prenatual3 жыл бұрын
It's written on a few whiteboards in that abandoned building (I look at one of them at 1:48). Door codes in H3 never change, so you only need to find them once.
@JohnSmith-dq2wx3 жыл бұрын
very nicely done. how many attempts does it take for you to dial in your strats/routes for a mission? how much variance is there between levels or other games?
@prenatual3 жыл бұрын
I rarely keep count of restarts, because I don't care about them. I mean, if I saw failed attempts as a waste of time or was easily upset about redoing the same stuff over and over I wouldn't be doing runs like this in the first place. I just set the goal for myself and play until I accomplish it. In this mission I made a save before killing Hush at around 1:30 and experimented from there before I figured out the viable strategy. Probably took 50+ reloads, maybe more. The final run was recorded on the first try, believe it or not. There isn't much variance between levels with the playstyle I went with, since I'm not using any other kill methods and not allowed to knock out people or wear disguises. The main attraction is figuring out how to manipulate enemies and doing it efficiently. Compared to earlier Hitman games there are a lot more options now because the AI reacts to a lot more things. Hitman 3 uses Absolution's AI as a base but devs fixed a lot of exploits or made them harder to pull off, so I can't just use the same old tricks that I discovered while speedrunning that game.
