Thanks for this. I've walked & played as a kid along that line many a time. Nice to see it how it used to be.... Thanks.

Wonderful footage Darren - favourites for me have to be shots of the 45s especially the light engine 45 with the four axle bogies going over the jointed rails and the 56s and 58s on the coal trains especially the sound of the 56s under load - priceless footage

Re living my youth Darren!! Loving the Blonde Grids, Peaks on freight duties, xcountry 31's, and a sad mangled BoBo, Toton looked good!

Very, very nice. A class 114 dmu makes an appearance, as well. Red stripe 58s, brand new class 150s. I am in nostalgia heaven.

Hi MrDeltic15 Lovely video. Takes me back to my train spotting days on Shipley Boat footbridge. Do you have any of this on DVD please?

@NapierNimbus Thanks Ian. Some more 45 footage to come soon from Kettering, and looking ahead there's plenty of 56 action to come from Peterborough, Clay Cross, and even locations such as Reading and Basingstoke!

@beanyzxr Thanks, glad you're enjoying my flashback movies :-) I think the 31's were still on Liverpool to Norwich workings at this time, with the new 150's on Nottingham to Leeds.

@SMILEVIDEOTRAINS Thanks Keith. The video was almost full size and took tapes about half the size of a VHS tape - which were then simply recorded onto a VHS cassette from which i'm now slowly converting onto DVD and making movies for here as i go. Long way to go with them yet though!

My youth too - I was 16 back then! Toton was a mix back then for sure, but in some ways the layout with the withdrawn locos has changed very little - just the Classes there. The Peaks sadly missed, but at least a few Grids around to this day.

Hey..All those loco's at L.M. Wow. The station has changed a lot since then Darren. Very enjoyable video. Did you have a full size video cam ?

@MrDeltic15 Believe it or not Darren I am pissed off with DVD's. When recorded I find that they play on one machine and not on another. THey have caused me so much hassle that I have now gone back to saving all my rail stuff on to tape.

Have you got anymore footage from the Toton part? Would love to have seen more from the south end!
@MrDeltic1511 жыл бұрын
It was a 'feature' there for quite some time in this period.

@MEKAYJIMMYNATHE Cheers mate. I was just 16 then, and things have certainly changed as you say. There'll be some movies from nearby Clay Cross to come in my early 90's section, and that was even better than here for freight and passenger variety.

@robertmbishop Thanks, much appreciated. Lots more to come from the late 80's and early 90's still :-)
