In my test it dose quite well in video editing have not tried image retouching. In my experience you have to give quite detailed instruction to perform tasks very well, so it still faster to hope in software and do it yourself. The good part is that he tells what he dose so actually you can learn behind the scenes what actually software dose while performing regular functions

Everything you’ve said in the end of the video about AI and that it’s just a tool which still needs a director, I completely agree and have been saying myself. I’m an artist and I’ve been using Midjourney quite a lot lately, but solely as a starting point or a concept illustration for clients. It’s rarely perfect and always needs an additional work done after been approved. I don’t understand the fear and the whole fuss “AI will take our jobs “ .. no it won’t. It’s just a tool , a very capable assistant which can speed up and ease your workflow, but you are the mastermind behind it. However I don’t talk about “AI artists “ who creates 100 images in image generators and post them online to get the praise. It’s like stealing your work from your assistant and get compliments for it. Nothing wrong with making money with it.. but don’t claim to be an “artist” if you haven’t add anything to it. Cheers

funny how you contradict yourself: if AI is a tool like a brush then whatever I do with it it's art too! well if you want I mask the results in Photoshop and add a couple of drawings or strokes and then it will be art! the problem is that anything is considered art, maybe you aren't aware but in a museum in Nederland an "artist" put several boxes arranged on the floor and the next morning the cleaner threw them away thinking they were garbage

I was initially alarmed by the video's title because, as you know, I'm learning how to use Photoshop and have been since the onset of Covid. After watching the video, I feel relieved. I love that you used so many metaphors in the video. "A chit-chat with Chat GPT." "All bark, no bite." "More lip service than legwork." "All talk and no transaction...or we might see a penny in there." "It's like having a conversation with a real editor, who, for the moment at least, has no skill." "I don't know whether action will speak louder than words." I like, "AI, right now at the moment of this video is just a tool." I love AI because it can be a great tool. I believe we'll always hold a prominent place in the creativity process. Might I offer a couple of metaphors for a future video: All talk, no walk. All hat, no cattle. And a favorite of mine...If not for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.

I'm not waiting for a separate AI to edit photos in. I'm waiting to Adobe to implement an AI model into Lightroom and Photoshop in which you can give it any prompts for what you want it to do. I know there's Generative Fill for Photoshop Beta but I want to be able to type "remove telephone wires" or "turn the shirt to light blue" and then have it done automatically.

One thing to keep in mind is that this version of GPT-4 cannot see images. It was doing all of those edits blindly, only using python code and what you told it about the image.

What he was doing could also be accomplished through the OpenAI API, which is much cheaper but doesn't have an easy pre-built UI like that. @ayoalonge1471 @purposefully.verbose There is also a very limited beta version of GPT-4 that has a human-like vision for looking at images. OpenAI teased this feature back in March, but right now it's only available to one company who's using it to build an app for blind people called BeMyEyes. Theoretically, once GPT-4 with vision is more broadly available, it might perform much better at editing photos. There are also some open source models like InstructBLIP and MiniGPT-4 that have similar vision capabilities. I thought I'd seen a video of one editing photos based on chat instructions, but I can't seem to find that video anymore.

It's about now everybody should consider how it will be when AI takes over your sweet heart by just being superior. We don't multiply rats and let them out in our fields, we shouldn't create an AI monster either. But most people have no fantasy or they will do anything for money - and when the future AI reality finally manifest in the shape of a superior self programming creation - it's just too late. So, yes... at this level it's really lovely to have all creativity replaced by automation. What a fantastic improvement.

My instant thought is to have GPT analyze this video along with a handful of other videos focused on Photo editing. Once absorbed, I’d then have GPT create me information that I would then import into a separate conversation with Code Interpreter. Then have it retry various photo editing tasks.

Human touch in any art form will always have value, that’s what I personally believe. That’s the reason why hand-made textiles or hand-assembled watches or engines are exotic and pieces of art, and always has a luxurious value.

Is that available only for some users, eg. based on their location? I have a Plus accoiunt, I have cleared my Chrome browser cache since updating ChatGPT settings to allow "Advanced data analysis" but I don't have this Code Interpreter option as such, nor any PLUS button or drag and drop possibility for images.

Same for me. I have a Plus account and I have the Plugins option and then also "Advanced data analysis", which then also says: "Try a version of ChatGPT that knows how to write and execute python code, and can work with file uploads. Try asking for help with data analysis, image conversions, or editing a code file. Note: files will not persist beyond a single session." So, I wonder if that option's name and description may have changed since this video.

I am hopeful that AI will provide me with the tools I need to do reworks that may have been time intensive before or required more intermediate methods. I don't think that ChatGPT is gonna work non destructivly, but I do think it's gonna help in these impossible task scenarios. Gotta remove a thousand faces from a picture easy. Automate the task with AI, you have to do batch processing well that's easier with AI too. I am hopefull that one day i might not have to open Photoshop do get a good look and feel prompt for a customer to satisfy his/her needs. But I am confident that technolgy as of now is hallucinating a bit to much like it's on LSD. Great video! Really straight forward as always, and really presentative of the examples used.

as the dodge/burn is not Ai and you can do in seconds on toshop (and/or in minutes with some Lr oversight for workflow management, mostly) for more than a decade now. As you shown in the video, even.. there is still ways to go until even the time of typing the request would be faster than just DOING IT "manually" with regular toshop effects. Besides by creating the all image with Ai and "accepting" its choice of framing and grading, doing the final touches manually will be faster, just for the file management system. sometimes, even just the time it takes to say the thing outloud is slower than just applying the effect on a single picture, or a batch of them.. Even posing some simple texts (but making it create titles and/or choose fonts from thematics from a datasheet would obviously be way faster by Ai, for gig posters, for example. but keeping it editable manually in toshop, for the final touches and grading, and manage. and I'm not up to date on toshop plug-ins, but that probably already exist. that would be an interesting in a video, too ;) ;) ). :)

You need to learn how to prompt. In this early stage you can’t just “ask for things” and expect the right results. In these cases be more prescriptive about what you want, step by step. Etc. lots of prompting techniques.
