Problem with the suggestion of scrapping VAR and bringing it back when it works is that in order to improve it we need to use it. The problem isn't really the technology, it's that it's unclear when to apply it an not, and how detailed to be with it. That's why the argument to keep it to improve it makes sense. Why would people spend time developing VAR if no one is using it?
