To pull out weeds from moss , you get a pair of scissors, and you open enough to cut root. You stab push the scissors into the ground cut the root as deep as you can. You slowly pull scissors from the ground, and you open and put them flat around the weed and pull the weed. The scissors keep the dirt in place as you pull the weed

I was told never to plant willow near homes foundation. Are you not afraid of it hurting the basement? ARe you going to show your fall clean up? Since we have so many similar plants it would be nice to see what you guys do so I can do it to my garden.
@growformegardening Жыл бұрын
It's probably closer than it should be but since it isn't a full on weeping willow tree we aren't worried. We've seen two story dappled willows in our area right next to houses. We will definitely be sharing how we clean up for the season!
@MamaGen124 Жыл бұрын
I love your gardens. How often do you water with the drip during the season? We’re close to you and I can’t figure out how to balance with the rain. Also I love beech trees also but I can’t add any right now. We have beech leaf disease in our current ones.

I notice that you have a 12”-18” rock edge btwn your house and the start of your garden beds. I think Linda Vater does the same thing. Is that strictly for weed suppression or does it offer advantages that I am can’t think of?
@growformegardening Жыл бұрын
We had the stone installed as a drip line. We like it for looks but mostly it is helpful for keeping water draining away from the foundation. It is about three to four feet deep

In a northern garden, an artemisia needs not just full sun, but blazing sun, which it doesn't look like yours is getting because it's tucked under the salvia and the hydrangea stems that are bending over it due to the weight of their blooms. An artemisia also wants poor soil, good air circulation, not much (if any) supplemental water, and zero fertilizer. Yours would do so much better in a more open spot, paired with other drought tolerant plants. In a bed that's being watered enough to keep roses and hydrangeas happy, I would guess your artemisia is drowning.
@growformegardening Жыл бұрын
This is good to know. It definitely is getting more water than it wants! If it comes back next spring I will move it

The drone comment was catty. To each his own, that’s the beauty of gardening. Lots of us watch to learn and decide what works best for our space. More options the better. Somewhat surprised you would be like that🙁

Oh we aren’t against the drone at all! It’s just not a solution for our smaller space. It wasn’t meant to be catty at all.
