Maybe try a bait button to keep the bait high up in the shaft of the hook…….?

Great vid. The fishing segments without the tunes are so much more enjoyable than the ones with music, Seems like every one has to add music to everything these days. You already have the best background sound you can get...nature. Why ruin it? Your content holds it's own, adding someone else's flippy dip tune degrades it.

@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors I understand, but you always hear... Like, Comment, Subscribe, so just being truthful about the content. Of all the local guys I fish with, or talk fishing with, non of them prefer vids with the music the entire time. I understand making a vid your own, adding your style, spicing up the intros & outros. Anyone can listen and/or get by that if they want, but when it is mixed in with the fishing content, viewers are forced to make a decision, fast forward, leave, or put up with irritating back ground to get to the fishing. Individual's music preference is so varied, I think content makers are taking a chance of making their vids less enjoyable for many by adding unnecessary background noise. You know that everyone is here to watch you, for your personality, and for the fishing, which are always great! That's what myself, and anyone I have ever discussed it, with enjoys. We want to hear the sound of "fishing" and all that's going on in the boat, like we are there. Lots of comments on the fish, your fishing ability, your personality etc., but you ever seen this comment..."Man, that electronic tinkerbell music was just what it needed, so much better than hearing you guys talkin with loons in the background"..? At least you don't use much of that, and don't have cheesy loop music from start to finish, so it's not as irritating as many others. Again, Your trips are great, that's what we want to HEAR, as well as watch! Thanks for listening, I'm sure it seem like I'm bitchin, but really just letting you know my own, and other's, truthful opinion.

Quick question. Do you think slowrolling a curly tail grub along the bottom would work well for walleye if I mixed in some pops of the rod tip here and there?

Hey tip if you take weedless jig skirt material or something like that wrap it with a line like you would a fly towards the eye of the hook and trim the jig skirt material so it's like a barb. Hit it was a shot of super glue and it will keep your bait in place

Clayton, Many thanks for your reply. We'll have to agree to disagree. Bigger and better boats, rods, reels, tackle and mapping don't allow you to see fish in real time 360 Degrees. This tech. will only get better. Where's the joy in learning to fish, not targeting fish everywhere within 100 yds. ? You don't really believe the first generation graphs are the same thing ? Mapping is a wonderful tool to locate contour, breaks, depths, etc. It does not locate fish. I bow to your years of experience but I don't believe fish are smarter today or will be smarter in the next 10 years therefore harder to catch. I truly hope you are right but I'm not holding my breath. Al
@sonnenburgoutdoors Жыл бұрын
You still have to make them bite. That’s the hard part 👍👍🐟🐟

Nothing wrong to agree to disagree, but I have used live imaging for almost 2 years now and I can tell you it has not advanced my fish catching as much as proper mapping did :) Cheers!

Clayton. I've been a long time subscriber to you and Jay's channels. They are always entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work. I cannot agree with your endorsement of forward facing sonar for the recreational or tournament angler. Over time this tech. will decimate our fishery plus take away from the "sport " of fishing. Do we really want to video game fish ? I understand as a Utube producer it is a valuable teaching aid however it is another $ 3-5 K investment anglers feel they must have in order to catch walleye or any other species. Like you, I cut my teeth fishing with a simple flasher and later a depth graph. If I got skunked it was a great day enjoying nature and learning. Some days the fish should win ! Just my thoughts. Al
@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Жыл бұрын
When graphs first came out it was exactly the same thing. You think forward facing sonar is going to be the problem and I disagree with that fully. What about the mapping? With mapping the fish can not hide.. What about the bigger boats? What about the better rods to feel your lures and bites? I could go on and on BUT the point is without proper management from all of US will be the problem. Will fish be smarter and harder to catch in 10 years from now? Likely, but they are also harder to catch now than they were 10 years ago, because of all the technology advancement. Trust me just because I have forward facing sonar doesn't mean the fish don't still win sometimes... Also. Thank you for being a follower for so long :). Cheers!
