Big thumbs up, Jay!!! I lived in Wawanesa for a few years, fished the Souris River for Catfish and Pelican Lake in Ninette for Walleye and Pike but never got a chance to fish any of the northern lakes. Once again your shots of the scenery are perfect to go along with the story you're telling. I wish I was a decade or two younger and had both my legs cause I'd be out there in a heartbeat fishing, hunting and showing off how fantastic our country is for outdoor activities! Thanks again for a killer video and PLEASE, keep them coming!!! - Dave

My dad and I have been making an annual trip to Dogskin Lake, which is also in the Atikaki and basically right next door to this lake. It's a bit more expensive but a fantastic option if you don't want to worry about bringing food and cooking your own meals. Fishing there is similar, you catch walleye basically everywhere you find interesting bottom structure. Like Jay mentioned, by July the pike in this area seem to go deeper than you'd expect, and it can be tough to find them on weeds. We've actually had the most success trolling deep diving walleye cranks like reef runners to catch big pike there mid-summer or later. We're from the US, so sadly no trip for us this year, but I can't wait to get back up to the Atikaki next summer. Great video as usual Jay and thanks for reminding me why I so look forward to visiting this area!
