Hey everyone Rho here! Today we're discussing the end of the Imperial Fists Chapter! How the famous first founding space marine chapter was almost made extinct by the actions of it's supposed ally...
Spoiler Warning to begin as the events we're discussing today are from the Warhammer 40,000 stories "I am Slaughter" by Dan Abnett. And "Predator Prey" by Rob Sanders. As always I really recommend you read the stories for yourself first without spoilers! As that's the best way to enjoy the lore for yourself!

@ssjjshawn Those legions lost way more than the Imperial Fists ever did. There's a reason why there weren't many succesor chapters for them compared to the Ultramarines or the Fists themselves.

@@ZeRo-bx7lp I don't think you read my statement. They were as a chapter destroyed. Not as a Legion. A Chapter. As in during the War of the Beast the Imperial Fists went extinct. Their successor chapters had to give up their own wargear and veterans to restart a new chapter named the Imperial Fists. None of the Chapters that hail from the Shattered Legions can say the same

Why do you assume he crafted that tactic, rather than learning and honing it from his genesire during his innumerable sieges under Peter Turbo? Could it not have been Bo's own tactic, which readers saw the first glimpse of in Dantioch's book?

Given the Last Wall protocol and the Imperial Fists Legion secretly hasn't really dispersed. The destruction of the Imperial Fists has greatly exaggerated.

Point of order The Imperial Fists are not a first founding chapter. They are a First Founding Legion The second founding then led to the chapter of the parent legion being called "Chapters of the First Founding" This is not the same as a "First Founding chapter" as the first founding only founded Legions Saying "First Founding chapter" sounds nonsensical

I think the First Founding Chapters have an advantage in their Tech and Gear...more Terminators, Mobile Armor, better small and heavy arms options...ancient stuff. That's a pretty heavy advantage Mate. The 'stupidity' of the Codex was in not allowing the OG Legion's to keep 50k standing...and use them to feed reinforcements to their off-shoots so that no Chapters would face absolute destruction. 50k Astartes is not enough power to cause another Heresy level event...but it is enough to provide a reasonable quick defense against this Era's major enemies. Think about it...mobilizing a single 50k OG Chapter to an Armageddon at its start, rather than wait for 1k Chapters to trickle in from throughout the galaxy...or how about Tyranids...or an immediate heavy response to another Black Crusade... Robute fucked up heavily by creating this virtual 10 000 year slow bleed of the Imperium.

Yes, only the main successor chapter was wiped out down to the last man. The other Imperial fist succesor chapters sent some of their men over to re-found the main successor chapter.

All second founding chapters came from the legions…it’s just the 9 kept the legion homeworld and iconography and if their primarch was (temporarily) around/alive he ran stuff out of that world until they didn’t until Robby McGuillicutty and Chuck Dansing-With-Jawas came back

Like technically the 9 that kept the legion names and iconography are also second founding chapters, since at the first founding, they were legions and were under legion organization and structure. Which logistically and narratively I just seeing as being overkill as a fighting force, it’s like that trope about ninjas (conservation of ninjutsu or something?) where if you have 1 ninja, he’s a stealthy murder machine but if you have hundreds of ninjas then they’re cannon fodder. Realistically I don’t know that 1000 marines could take over a planet with comprable tech to the imperium. I think they are the best (mass produced) special forces for the imperium of man and as Space Marines, so that “tip of the spear elite strike force” job fantastically, but are shitbad and wasted resources to be in anything that’s not that. Imperial Fists and Iron Warriors are both bad for either being cover camping shits, or always sieging shits. A single cyclonic torpedo fired outside the shields of a non compliant city makes the earth quake and the city fall. Send in the marines and the Army the finish the fight.

I would love it if Dorn came back next, found out what happened then he, flanked by his 2 brothers, storm into a meeting of all the high lords, show the evidence, tear into all of them, then accuse the fabricator general of being no better than Kelbor Hal when he tries to defend the mechanicus’s actions. Then immediately demanding and forcing retribution because, after all, wtf are they going to do against the combined will of 3 returned primarchs. Ahhh a boy could dream. In the end though I would love to see what Dorn does when he finds out about it if he returns (which I would love) because we all know he WILL make a big deal out of it and do something about it

There is no fabricator general now. Him and an inquisitior where going to cut a deal with drukhari to try and fix the golden throne realized that was a Supremely stupid idea then all got killed in the web way. I think he's still considered MIA but the new codex might have new lore about a replacement.

im a bit lost. the main force of the imperial fists went to fight a massive ork wagh. then the admiral of terra ordered the remains of the imperial fists on terrra to reinforce the main force? i ask because it seems that he reinforced his personal battle at the other side, but that cant be since then the imperial fists wouldnt be on the verge of extintion, since they would be at two places, not one.

Well I am slaughter survived thou the planet was mostly destroied by the moon teleporting. Slaughter said it himself they couldn't fight the planet with a sword or a shield. It would be really cool to save the other two fists they were bad ass. I believe the Black Templars and the First exemplars will help with restoring the main chapter. The Black templars Marshal seems like a very angry person :D

Now, I know we are dealing with the Beast Arises, but events even this far back, still echo in the 41st Millenium! The High Lords are still self serving back stabbers! Now, the Orks of that time had a unity not really seen before. Echoing events in the 41st Millenium, Thraka and the Orks! So, as I stated yesterday, multiple threats to Terra! The power of an Ork Wwwwaaaaagggghhhhh must never be under estimated. Also, the collective power of the Ork mind, the Great Green! Should events come to pass that the Orks unify to the extent of the past, the Imperium would be unable to meet this. The Tyranids, Chaos, Necrons as well.

It's about a story in M31.5, in which the Imperial Fists chapter does not meet anything resembling it's end, and was yet more click bait.
