Well her birth name was Mary. And because she had so much energy as a kid her grandfather nicknamed her Skeeter. Now we know the rest of the story.

Awe thanks for that wonderful old mind stir song. When I was in 7th & 8th grade playing basketball riding a bus to all small towns we'd get back to Fillmore late. That song was always played at Mert Floyd s restaurant over and over again on juke box. Skeeter Proffit was only guy I knew from Fillmore
