I'm also in my 60s and *mostly* not a fan of rap - at least the "gangsta" stuff because it's usually so negative and vulgar. (Gotta admit I did kinda like Gangsta's Paradise, though.) I recently discovered country-infused rap, which I like to call redneck rap, and there is a huge difference. Stuff by folks like Colt Ford, Big SMO, The Lacs, and a few others is often about wholesome values like God, hard work, family, and patriotism. Plus, you often hear real drums (instead of a phony electronic percussion sound) and some lead guitar. I am somewhat a fan of John Rich and most of what I've heard from Tom McDonald is thematically worthwhile. This song/video is no exception, and they make a good duo.

A lot of these country artist play on many of the other hick-hop artist albums. Jawga Boyz and Colt Ford regularly have country legends on their songs. But, Tom is continuing the tradition of creating good country rap crossover that originated with guys like Bubba Soarxxx and has become extremely popular in recent years. At least he isn't just subverting the genre like Lil Nas X did. I didn't se any Yee Yee stuff on Tom's video, so that was a plus. Hopefully Tom does more of this and also helps bring attention to those great artist that have been doing this sound for the past decade+.

Sleep is a little less than water. Everyone is exhausted which is making them more irritable, more objectively stupid, lazier as they just literally can't do as a much. Every organ starts shutting down so we get sicker, we gain weight at the same time. When nobody is just taking a break to get some literal rest (as well as emotional) we all go nuts and get fat as we can't lose weight normally. No this is more of a selected crowd that's going to really love this one. Personally I think the lyrics are great the videos but being that I absolutely hate country music and the sound of the steel string guitar it makes me want to claw out my own eyes I really don't care for this song I turned it off halfway through I couldn't get past the baseline the beat I hate it. The lyrics are great though the video is spectacular I turn down the sound and watched the video. This is only going to reach certain fans other ones like me that are more heavy metal type fans are not going to be into this one. An absolutely Genius collaboration of 2 GREAT men singing TRUTH. I just found Toms music a couple weeks ago but have been listening to John for years. Before I found this song I had thought these 2 could make GREAT music together, then BAM, found this song from Tom & John made almost a year ago, a PERFECT song together, not just musically but lyrically, every word is TRUTH & what people NEED to hear both people that are awake to know we’re not alone and people that are woke that need to hear the TRUTH, not the systems truth but the FACTUAL TRUTH.
